Wait times at CSC for I129(f)

I called CIS the other day and their operator told me that they are processing I-129(f) applications from April 2010. VisaJourney says CSC is processing applications with an NOA1 of June 2010. I understand how this forum calculates processing time (through actual applications of members) but why would CIS be giving out arbitrary dates such as "April 2010?" Thanks for a response.

Our NOA1 date is 7/13/10.

Visa journey timelines arent always correct. People put in incorrect dates on their timelines or they speculate and put in dates that haven happend yet in anticipation.

CSC could very well be working on petitions from april all the way up untill june. It may not be an arbitrary date they gave you. Some petitions move faster than others some get stuck because they forgot things and need to send in RFES and other RFES back up other petitions etc etc.

The processing goal is 5 months for I-129 F petitions. So, if your petition gets approved before the 5 months are up, then you are lucky! Also, some VJ members have had to wait longer than the 5 months estimated processing time. We can ALL hope that our case gets processed faster, -I get very jealous when I see in some members' timelines that their petitions were approved in a month or less!- but we really do not know what will happen to our individual case...

Best wishes!

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.

People we need reliable information here! don't drop the bomb and then don't say how you got the information! I never heard of cis operator giving out information like processing times...

If so, I will have my fiace calling them tomorrow!

I am sorry about snapping like this, but if it the information isn't reliable, and written somewhere (reliable source), I pass it!

I agree and also want to know, where that information is coming from. I heard that it normally takes about 3 months at the CSC, then VSC etc. see timeline example on this website (Flowchart). Most people have the whole process done within 5 to 7 months. Why would people give wrong info regarding their NOA2s etc. on this website? It would not make sense @ all.

If you go to USCIS website you will see that processing timeframe for I-129F is 5 months: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do They will tell you the same thing if you call their costumer service. Some people get approved in less than 5 months, some wait even longer. Most of us June CSC filers have been waiting for over 3 months so don't expect that you will wait no longer than that. Like Aztec&Taino said, if you are lucky you get your approval in less than 5 months but prepare to wait!

They told you April because that was 5 months ago; their processing goal. As far as USCIS is concerned, they want you to believe the average is 5 months. Realistically it's usually less but USCIS isn't going to tell you that.

Met: December 2009

Married: April 2015

Received CR-1 visa: February 2017

POE (as IR-1): April 2017

Oath ceremony: November 2020

From the day I sent in our K-1 packet until the day Chinook was back in my arms again was five and a half months.

The waiting was hell.

Good luck everyone. :star:

Slovenia is a great place! I hope you like the U.S. I can't believe how the wait time for this visa has increased so much in the past month!
