Hi Guys,

How long does it take to hear from the NVC? It's going on 3 weeks since our approval letter from USCIS. Will they email or use snail mail?

Also, the instructions I have found the Cyprus Embassy's site says they get the DS-230 Part 1 and 2 along with his Passport Bio page and Statement so why am I seeing people on here talking about sending the DS-230 to the NVC. I'm confused now.... :help:

Thanks for your help as always...

They will use snail mail to send you your letter from the NVC. You can always call them 603.334.0700. You can ask them if and when your case arrived there and has it been sent to the embassy in cyprus. I believe people talking about sending DS-230 to NVC are those that are filing for CR-1 visa you are on a K-1. Good luck

K-1 Visa, right?

You'll need to contact NVC and DOS Hotline, get some status -

see http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/264972-shortcuts-when-checking-for-updates-from-the-nvc-and-dos/

Dodi's posted 'how to call', I've posted 'what you can get'.

K-1 visa applicants submit a full 'Visa Application' set to the Embassy - so disregard anything about sending it to NVC - K-1 visa applicants NEVER send stuff to NVC, ever.

The DS-230 usually not have 'part II' submitted for any K-1 visa applicant, though.

Since yer 'currently' going through Cypress - hey ! could you update the VJ Cypress Embassy page, over at http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Cyprus&cty=Nicosia over the next few weeks, as / when you get current info?

Ignore the drivel below, it's for CR-1/IR-1 visas..

most people don't wait on NVC to 'snail mail' anything.

Many VJ members want speed -

and get it, with LingChe's ShortCuts - see http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/LingChe_NVC_ShortCut

Please note you'll be using the telephone for the 'initial contact' at NVC - to 'kick the process into play'.

the instructions at the Cypress Embassy, I must assume, are for casefiles filed directly with the Cypress IV unit, not to Chicago.

so - if you have NVC involvement, and want speed - learn all about stuff with LingChe's Shortcuts, ya?

other NVC STUFF -

DS-230 - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html

I-864 - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3730.html

General NVC stuff - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1335.html

Good Luck !
