My future wife :-) lived in ekaterinburg for 5 years but wasn't registered to her apartment, thought she went to the university for 5 years.

in the G325 I put her current address since she is registered to it now.

Now because I put on G325, she will need police certificate for past 5 years in ekaterinburg. She says that no one will give it to her because she wasn't registered to the apt for past 5 years..

Thanks!

I believe you request a police certificate from where ever place you are currently residing at in compliance with Russian registration laws. From there, it is up to the police services to issue a proper police certificate stating or not stating her unregistrered time during her university studies. I don't know what the actual application that your wife will fill out at the police station looks like, but you will list your addresses there. At the very worst she might have to pay a fine for not being registered, but don't lie on the G325A concerning those 5 years.

This is sticky....

On the one hand, there's no record of her living there, so you might be OK if you just list her home of record only and treat the time at university as kind of a "temporary stay" and from the perspective that she didn't actually "live" there, she was only there temporarily for school.

On the other hand, if she was there, registered through a university, then they're going to have records of that, and obviously she wasn't travelling from home to get to Ekaterinburg everyday.

If you've already sent everything in as is, (G325 with only home of record, no Ekaterinburg) then I would only have her get the police record from home, and totally omit Ekaterinburg. However, if you do that, you must ensure that on her other forms (packet 3, etc.) that she doesn't list "student in Ekaterinburg" as her occupation. If that's listed on there, she's going to most likely have to have the police check from there too.
