POLICE REPORT-NIGERIAN CONSOLATE

My husband and I were looking on the nigerian consolate website and the police report instructions provides a specific location in Lagos to request and pick up the police report. However, my husband lives in abuja, travelling and staying in lagos to receive the report would require too much work. my question is, if anyone could answer this, do we have to go to Lagos for this report or can it be done in Abuja.

Dont really have the answer to your question but please keep in mind that the police check is only valid for 3months so you might want to wait a little closer to the interview date to get that......Good Luck

thanks for your response. I just like to research early so that when the time comes i'm well researched and well prepared to move forward. so this is only pre-liminary research.

He must have a medical at the clinic approved by Lagos so he should be able to get the police certificate done while he is dealing with the medical. If he lacks shots the medical will require several visits.

police criminal character check is done in lagos and abuja but please not that the embassy specificaly want it from lagos(alagbon close at obalende)because the u.s.immigrant visas are treated in usem in lagos only thats why they want the medicals and police report from lagos.get your appointment first before you proceed to lagos and at the same time go for your medicals cos you will required to visit the clinic a month after your first vacination shot.hope it helps

Okay now I'm confused. I thought the Police clearance was done at the NVC stage for CR-1/IR-1? And the medical/immunizations are for the interview stage.

Aya820 I am not sure about CR-1/IR-1 cases for the police check but for K-1 we have to have the police check done and medical done and brought to the interview with us. Maybe someone who is doing a CR-1 case can better come along and answer your question. but I think everyone has to go for the police check I think what you are thinking is the backround checks the NVC conducts before sending your case to the consulate and setting up an interview. Yes they do that at NVC....hope I didnt confuse you

@aya820 the police character is done and submitted to nvc for cr/1 alone and the medical will be presented at the embassy stage.

I got my police report which expires 10 days before my interview and i mailed the lagos embassy asking them and they said it is good for one year.
