When do I tell...

So I plan on crossing over the border to visit my fiance and his children on Sat, for a

couple of days.

My question is when do I tell them that I have a fiance visa filed for me.

They always ask who I am going to see and I say my boyfriend, but now he is a fiance and I

just not sure when I should tell them about the filing (or do I wait until I am approved??)

And I am sure they will notice the ring on my hand too...

You can, just maintain evidence of strong ties back home, as always when you enter the US on a visa/visit.

Many people have done it , with no issues.

I am planning on going to the US in a little over the week. And while I will tell them I am visiting my fiance, I'm not going to offer up the Visa information unless the topic comes up. I don't want to seem too eager to give them information, it might make it look like I practiced my answers.

OKay, I just know some of the officers at this border are not nice and I just

don't want to be not be able to see my fiance's children, for we are still trying to

bond before I become thier step-mom. They can't cross the border, their passports

are expired...Thanks.

Best of luck to you! I am nervous about the whole thing, but I've never had a problem going into the US from my airport. They've hardly ever asked me a single question.

Thanks, and Best of Luck to you too!! I have at this border crossing, some of them

seem to have a power trip complex! But I hope that I get the nice ones that I have

come to know. They always ask me a ton of questions, probably because I live

in a border town and I was refused once about 2 years ago when I was trying to visit

my ex and stupidly had no ties to Canada at the time...lol

I don't have many ties myself. I'm living with my parents to save money before I move, and my job is a contract job that ends today, actually. The only proof I will have is my NOA1 to prove I'm doing things the legal way, a return ticket, and some bills! Here's to hoping that'll be enough. I don't have anything else to offer!

That should be enough, they shouldn't punish us for doing things the way THEY

want us to do it, by getting a K-1.

I plan on getting a letter from my employer today, just to be safe.

Some of my bills I pay online, so I guess I will have to print the reciept

out?

Cross our fingers and Pray is all we can do!!

You guys will be fine. I go almost every weekend (I live in Mississauga, Ont and he in Buffalo, NY). I jssut answer whatever they ask in the most honest way possible. Soemtimes I say boyfriend (since we've been dating much longer than engaged) but most time I say fiance. (I too was nervous the first few times I crossed after gettign me ring)

Soemtiems they will ask about plans or Visa etc. BEWARE that some seem to pretend they know what they are talking about Immigration wise but say false statements. Ie. one guy (after knowing i was doing K-1) said so are you getting married over there or over here? I said here (Buffalo) and then restated I'm in processing for K1...he said a few other false statements but I can't remember them anymore.

; OMG!! I am sooooo nervous too!!

My entry got denied last May 3rd this year!! They asked me whom I'm going to visit, and I told them "a friend", but because of the fact I wasn't honest about telling them I'm visiting my boyfriend, instead of just a friend!!!

After showing my passport and answering the question, i had to go to 2nd security check! They surched through my bags and all that, and questioned me for 4 hours!! I missed my connected flight. And because I lied about my relationship with, at that time my boyfriend, they escorted me by two officers (how embarrassing, i felt like a terrorist) on the first plane back to the Netherlands!!! They were mad because I lied about my relationship with my bf. And they thought becuz I lied, I wanted to get married and get a green card.. I was like "#######"!! I really was depressed for weeks, but happily my fiance flew over the very first day I got back home.

Last summer, I flew back and stayed for 9 weeks!! I showed them evidence (work contract, my sister was due in septemer, letter from my boss). And I was completely honest why I got deported last year and all that. And after 10 minutes, I was good to go.. I never felt that happy..

I am flying back next month (I visit my fiance 2 weeks every 2 months) and still I am scared like crazy... Because I know they'll give me a hard time. But I am going to give them a copy of my I-129 package, to show them that I dont gonna stay for a longer period of time than my 2 week visit, and that i wont get married during my stay.

EEWWW, I am nervous.. but I have learned that I have to be honest at all times, and YES, I will tell them that I'm engaged!!

when I said I am going to see my fiance and his kids. She asked if this was my car, where I work in

Canada, and how long I plan to stay! That was it...so ONE visit down!!! YEAH...until the next time.
