I have a question. I know I must submit proof of my divorce when submitting the I-129F. I do have the final decree issued by the courts. Do I have to send in a copy of the entire decree which is 6 pages or can I just send in the 1st page and the last page which has the judges stamp on it ?

My husband's divorce decree was only one page; he and his ex didn't have any property to split nor any children, so it was short and sweet.

You may want to send all 6 pages, since your circumstances may be different.

send PHOTOCOPY of entire decree.

Show (in the photocopy) any/all seals/stamps/attestations - if on the back of a page, hey ! copy the back of that page !

'certified copy' not needed for I-129F submittal, but must to show either original or certified copy on interview day.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I sent a photocopy (front and back because the seal and signature was on the back on the last page) of all the pages of the certified copy I have. I gave the actual certified copy to my fiance for his interview.

My husbands divorce decree was 6 pages. We copyed all 6 pages and sent them in. At my interview they asked me for the original copy because he wanted to see the seal and match it up etc. I handed him the original through the slot and he looked at all the pages and scanned with his eyes all the lines where people had signed it. He ran his hand over the raised seal press on the last page and looked at the copys seal and said ok then passed the original back through the window to me.

I have a question. I know I must submit proof of my divorce when submitting the I-129F. I do have the final decree issued by the courts. Do I have to send in a copy of the entire decree which is 6 pages or can I just send in the 1st page and the last page which has the judges stamp on it ?

Send all pages; hope that is OK with you.

Sorry for being rude, why make a fuss about whether it is 1 pgae or 6 pages, it is a divorce decree, just send a copy of all pages, people don't get married for fun, that's your life you spent with a wrong person and wasted your time as well as her, so, you get the point!

When i got my decree, i got 3 ccertified copies from courts and on top i certified these by the foreign ministry of sri lanka. You will need these decree many more times in teh future. so, have few certfied copies. Worth the struggle getting it.

Good luck!

I do not know why this is so hard for people... It asks for the decree... it does NOT ask for only the important signed page(s)....

You need to send the 6 pages of your divorce decree. Don't send the original, just send copy of those!

The adjudication officer told me to bring in or send in only the last page with the stamp on it. She said they had no interest in any of the other documents. To make sure they had it I took it to the USCIS office myself.

Thats why its so hard for people. One persons experiance or opinion doesnt replace the requirement of a particular officer.

I would send in everything that pertained to the divorce decree & let them sort it out if I had to mail it.

Thanks Ning, My experience has also been that many places who have asked for my divorce decree just wanted the first and last page. Some people on this forum dont realize why we ask questions such as this. They don`t seem to understand many of us are new to this process and want to be sure we are doing things correctly. I`m on here to ask questions of the community and not to be lectured.

Most people don't have the option of "walking" their documents into the service center that's adjudicating their petition. Taking them to your local USCIS field office is useless if your petition isn't being adjudicated there. Most people also wouldn't want to wait for an RFE in order to figure out what the adjudicator wants. It's a safe bet that 100% of the people here are mailing their package since that's the only way to get it into the Texas lockbox facility.

The only correct answer is to send a copy of the entire divorce decree, however many pages that might be.
