Hi All,

While reading some posts & links on this forum, it seems like, many people suggest that at time of interview, it may come up as to when, how we met, & then the relation developed & then marriage happened & so on. There are still a lot of marriages happen as arranged marriages in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh & other similar countries. Same true in my case. I was planning on telling the truth & if asked was going to say that our marriage was an arranged & it was arranged by family members. So we met when marriage happened.

Is this something reflect negative & can decrease chances of a successful visa interview at the consulate?

Thanks & Best Regards.

Arranged marriage is perfectly fine. Local Consulate knows local culture :)

Hello,

The Consular Officers at all the embassies know the local customs and traditions. For them in Pakistan, a case of Arranged marriage is not unusual. So If you told them at the time of the interview that you had an arranged marriage (which I believe is also the truth), don't worry about it.

I hope this answer helps. Also, all the best with your interview and the rest of the visa journey.

regards,

SAL.

If an arranged marriage is culturally appropriate, as it is where you are from, then that is no problem in itself. But you must show that you have a bonafide relationship, which may be a little more difficult.
