We applied for the "Petition to Remove the Conditions of Residence" (I-751) and received a Notice of Action in the mail.

I think something is new because what we got is a little bit different than everything else I can find on the internet.

The letter says:

Your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year. During the one-year extension you are authorized employment and travel

It also says:

You will be receiving a biometric appointment notice with a specific time, date and location...

I wonder if this means further evidence is needed in order for my husband to get his 10 year green card. We were together 11 years before we got married, so I'm not really worried about proving our marriage is legit...it's just a lot of time and paperwork. :)

We are planning a trip to Japan next month. According to what I've researched this letter "I-797C" along with his expired greencard should be good enough to get back in to the United States.

I'll keep you updated.
