Interview Wait Times

Hi Everyone,

I haven't had a chance to enter in my visa dates as of yet, but I had one quick question. How long are the wait times between getting everything finished at the NVC and actually getting the interview appointment and date from the Montreal Consular?

My husband and I were luckily able to do everything digitally through e-mail/pdf with the NVC and on August 4th we received notification through e-mail that all of our documents were received and in order and now we're just waiting on the interview date.

How long is the wait for that, and also, do they notify you by email, regular mail or both?

Sorry if these questions have been answered somewhere else, I've poked around and not quite found what I was looking for.

Montreal? Montreal is way lagged, is black pit of dismal despair.

If you get it prior to 5 months after 'final review complete',

it's a blessing.

re: notification - you should get appointment letter in via email.

You could, as well, call NVC once a week, inquire for casefile status.

you can run queries against the VJ timelines to get an answer on averages. I just did a search on all Montreal Interview waits for 2010 and the average is 141 days between NOA2 and interview.

I really hope that's the case. Although I've gotten my hopes up when something seemed to go great (digital NVC processing) thinking that it will speed up the process and then find out that we're stuck waiting ages for the interview. We waited almost 6 months for our I-130 approval.

I drive to Montreal each weekend, but I was hoping we could avoid another Quebec winter.

Probably not, I find the timeline data to be quite inaccurate most of the time. However these are the results for IR1's thus far in Monteral in 2010

I will keep my fingers crossed for you, but in all honesty the timeline data here at VJ is questionable at best. But the average wait for folks in 2010 (there are only 3 with complete timelines) is 70 days.

That would be nice! I just had a stupid thought. Since I live in Ontario M?ontreal is my ONLY option for an interview? Is that correct? What if you told them to send the interview to Vancouver..do we have a say in this or not? If so, how long is the wait for Vancouver??

Yes, as an IR-1/CR-1 filer, your only option is Montreal. Vancouver isn't an option.

Hi All,

I hope someone has some info on this as I do not know what to do!

I just got my NOA2. I am the beneficiary and I am in Canada on a work visa that ends in 5 months. Afterwards I would need to return to Argentina where I am from. I wanted to do the electronic processing but seeing the wait times for the interview at Montreal I am afraid I won't make it in time to d the interview in Canada. Now I don't know what to do: if to start the NVC EP but if the interview is after I leave could I transfer it to Argentina even though Argentina does not use EP? May be I can leave Canada and come back on a tourist visa for the interview only? (is that possible?)

Whatever info you may have I will greatly appreciate it!!
