Hi,

Can anyone tell me what to expect in packet 3 from the Vancouver Consulate? So far I've gathered it'll include:

-checklist

-DS-230, part 1

-DS-156

-DS-156K...

I'm currently visiting my husband in the US but when I return to Canada this weekend I'll go straight into the field for work for another 3 weeks before I can get home to check my mail. I'd like to have everything ready, if possible.

Is this info correct since you gone thru the steps :)

For a K-3 interview in Vancouver,

1) DS-156K is not needed

2) Affidavit of Support (aka I-134) is not needed. Not even a nice to have since they do not look at it?

3) what about bank statements and work letter for the petitioner?

4) is the OF-167 public charge evidence needed ? or not since the affidavit is not required?

All packet 3 is the checklist (with links to where you can get the DS-230 and DS-156) and medical info. That's it.

DS-156K and OF-167 are only for K1s.

I-134 is not required for K3s going through Vancouver unless they have changed their policy. They did not ask or require me to provide any sponsor/financial information at all.

All that is required is what they will put on the checklist. Nothing more, nothing less. :)

Mel had the I 134 all done and sent it to me with everything else.

The Consulate did take it in my case- he didn't ask for it. I took everything out of my folder and put it on the counter, he did flip through it and kept it.

Very interesting. I was going to do one and then per misa and the checklist, i decided not to do it and now...

i am confused. why did they take it if they do not need it?
