That's a bunch of sheer BS! I travel to Europe min once to twice a year...Germany, Holland, and sometimes Denmark not including eastern Europe, and what you just posted is pure BS. I don't know where you get your info from, but wherever it is you might want to start looking elsewhere.

When you can get your head around the difference between changing current/future immigration policy and discriminating against those who have already settled in the EU - perhaps your wheels might stop spinning. Although, I doubt it.

Now, which political parties advocate which discriminatory policies against which immigrant populations? Mind you, Zarkosy did jerk a few chains trying to eliminate the Gypsies, but guess what reaction that elicited around the rest of Europe and indeed from within France itself? Anti-immigrant ideology has a very unsavoury past in Europe and it is not a mainstream view. That you might wish to mix with the fringe elements of society on your travels is another thing entirely, your choices are your choices to make.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

So, you're deciding that the language should be English? I would argue that diversity in language is a key part of American heritage.

A culture that values individual rights, would that not also be a culture that values an individuals right to speak their language, dress how they would like to, basically live the life they would choose? I would think your statement would also extend to allowing people to celebrate whatever holiday they want. I'm born and raised Minnesotan with a whole hell of a lot of Irish and German heritage and my family doesn't really celebrate Thanksgiving, we just get ready to go shopping. Also, working in the tax industry as I do, I see many, MANY people who were born right here in America's heartland who don't pay their taxes. Yet, my husband who immigrated last year pays his. By your definition, has he assimilated better than those who were born American?

-I didn't decide English should be the language it just is. Our Governemnt does business in English our road signs are in English and no matter where you go in the country, English is a functioning language

even in very ethnic areas.

-People are free to speak any language they choose, but we are talking about assimilation not what people are permitted to do. To be assimilated, you must speak english.(no if ands or buts)

-While it's possible your Minnesota family does not celebrate Thanksgiving (which makes you either rare or just argumentative)...you failed to show how Thanksgiving is not a solid part of the Culture... even if your one family only focuses on shopping.

-I was joking about paying Taxes, one need not even be a citizen to pay those.

No I think she's spot-on in her analysis. I guess you find what you want to find depending on what you seek and how you view the world. Most Europeans are simply beyond the politics of being retarded.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Riight rigght, your post was not generic in nature, it was specific was it. Are you really that out of it?

Nevertheless, speaking of hypocrite [thanks Spook], you don't like to be grouped together but then you like to group [claim] everyone is the same; that all think, act, behave the same.

This is not a baiting response. By your own posted definition of bigot, explain to me how you differ from those you point fingers at? Again, this is not bait, it is a legitimate question to ask.

A bigot is some who is adamantly against views of others, basically like you when it comes to the US. I accept all sorts of views, it's also why I have debated and argued with pretty-much everyone on here regarding some issue or another. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about certain others, who in over four years, have never ever disagreed with one another. Therefore, they are either clones or truly lock-step.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Geez, my opinion? Wow, imagine that?. Yes, it was my opinion - one that can be substantiated if you bother to look at the political parties that the citizens of the various European Union countries VOTE for and what these parties STAND FOR. If you did that, you would know that it is the NATIONALIST PARTIES that are the ones that devote themselves to scapegoating immigrants (the funny looking ones of course) and that these parties enjoy marginal support (less than 5% of the population on a good day). None of the major, well supported parties promote policies and issues that marginalize, target or in any way could lead you to the opinion that Europe is tiring of its immigrants. IT COULD be argued that Europe is considering its need for further immigration from areas external to the EU - a lot of European political parties support caps and limits on NEW immigrants. However, that does not mean for one moment that it wishes to divest itself of those who are here already and have been here for generations, even the FUNNY LOOKING ONES THAT ADHERE TO DIFFERENT CUSTOMS, TRADITIONS, RELIGIONS etc.

Now, when you can get your head around the difference between changing future immigration policy and discriminating against those who have already settled in the EU - perhaps your wheels might stop spinning. Although, I doubt it.

Cleo  Cleo  Cleo  Cleo

It's nice and all for you to quote up to the 8th generation I believe, however we are talking about present immigration trends and issues. Unfortunately prior to the last few decades, the same group of migrants you are defending has never successfully immigrated anywhere without war. The First Mosque was built in the US in the 20's I believe, whereas 8 generations ago, Europeans had barely landed in the US. Terra Australis had not even been discovered yet by your ancestors; though based on new research, it's now widely believed that the Dutch had actually discovered Australia back in the 15th Century.

You also seem to confuse immigrants like the Greeks who fled the Ottoman Empire, or the Greeks and Italians who migrated to Australia after WWII, to the new wave who have never ever migrated or assimilated outside our very own generation, let alone the 8th you claim. Mixing Pita with Bratwurst, pesto with Shepard Pies is a little different to having people with diametrically opposed ideologies migrate to western countries. Greeks and Italians had been at war for the last 2,500 years, yet we get along like a house on fire now. Why? Because while we have our unique differences, our fundamentals in life are similar.

In the past, you have conveniently used history [like slavery] to explain the present. Perhaps you can enlighten me with what Australians have done to Lebanese Muslim youth, to cause the huge problems now faced by the country, with this one particular group. Or the chronic violence seen in Sweden or even France by the equivalent new immigrants.

And you aren't that way about Australia? And you are that way with all of your anti-US posting? I would hardly consider you someone who accepts anyone else's viewpoint when it differs with yours. You generally resort to hostility and ridicule when someone presents an argument that you don't like or disagrees with your opinion. When someone posts links to sources to support their argument, you dismiss them as not credible or go off on a tangent. Yet you expect everyone to accept your sources and no other ones. You accuse people of what they post as being their opinion, yet everything you post is God honest, etched in stone, indisputable fact.

I defend the US because I live here. I also know plenty of things that are wrong and could be better. But unlike you, I don't thrive on the negative and post it over and over to get a rise out of people. You can't honestly expect people who live here and fought hard to come live here to agree with you that everywhere else on earth is better than here. On the icing on the cake is that you live here too. I don't see how anyone could be more hypocritical or bigoted than that. You do what you do to bait and yet accuse myself and others of doing it to you. We live here. We're Americans. What would a rational mind expect?

You did it right there dude, you cannot accept any other views because apparently you are American and some other nonsense. You are pretty good on other topics but when it comes to the US, sorry Spook but you are the epitome of a ethnocentric bigot. The type of American mocked overseas, for assuming the US is the center of the galaxy.

Not one piece of evidence, study, survey, photo etc has ever been good enough for you. Oprah just discussed the new documentary regarding education and illustrated how American Schools are now ranked 25th. Therefore, is this anti-America or BS to you too?

What does living here have to do with it? By that logic, if I drive a ford, you claim I have no right to dislike a ford. Had I purchased a ford for my next car, then yes I would be hypocritical. Anyone who comes here from abroad and says wow this is backwards, you have a go at them and call them anti-American. What do you want them to do? Pack up and leave this second because they don't like HFCS versus regular sugar; which ever one else uses.

I accept plenty of other views on America. You are the only one on this site who has something negative to say in every post you make. That isn't normal, especially for someone who left there homeland to come live here. You thrive on the negative. When the America appreciation thread was active, you couldn't make one post saying something positive about the US, yet you posted over 100 times in the thread telling everyone else they were wrong. Yea, that really makes sense, doesn't it??

Everything you post is anti-US. Again, there is no one on this forum that constantly belittles and trivializes everything this country does and stands for like you do. I know plenty of people who immigrated here and not one has your attitude. I even had a beef shawarma at a local Lebanese market for lunch today. Imagine that. Of course we all know what you think of anyone from Lebanon.

People are people in my book, no matter where they come from. And there are bad apples in every bunch. If you consider me a bigot, fine. But take a good look next time you're near a mirror.

Yer not trying the document the history of a 4 years-long argument that yer having with a krewe here, are ya?

Wow - 4 years.

Many people would just 'let it go' after the first one - but four?

Good Lord.

Yeah the shawarma or better known as kebab [kabob here] is not to my liking, as it uses a mixture of cheaper meat in a sausage style format. I prefer the Souvlaki or Gyro, which is made up of fillets of actual meat, like lamb, beef or chicken.

I'm illustrating a pattern Darnell, I am not bringing up what anyone said over four years.
