Is Europe tiring of its immigrants?

I find that hard to believe seeing how there isn't one Muslim country on the map that is in the black as far as economics go. It gets even worse when you delve into personal freedoms for said country's.

The GDP of the Middle East is $1.6 Trillion, Canada's GDP is $1.3 Trillion.

What some seem to deny is that unlike the US which has no generousness welfare program, it's extremely easy to have child after child and not work in Europe, Canada or AUS. Not to mention, a hell of a lot of certain immigrants live off the welfare and are having five plus kids. All paid for by those same folk they dislike and do not care to ever assimilate with.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Sans the reason Muslim's can't immigrate to the West fast enough...or else there wouldn't be millions of Muslim immigrants in the West now would there ?

The US is not in the black.

Please support your statement by naming each Muslim country you are referring to, their revenue sources and GDP.

So you are saying muslims are not assimilating?

When you say "everyone else".. you mean the "average"?

Are you working with the belief that wealthy, educated people can not assimilate.... even if they are not average?

Please explain what assimilation means to you because I doubt it means the same thing to both of us.

I think my Muslim immgrant husband is pretty well assimilated. Although he sometimes speaks Arabic to other people who speak Arabic and we even eat Moroccan food sometimes!

Assimilation is difficult for immigrants above a certain age, period, no matter what culture. Their kids generally don't have the same challenges.

The central argument on the assimilation of Muslims in Europe seems to be the burqa. Is it that big of a deal, really?

Well you may have a point there.

I thought it generally meant embracing language culture and customs of your new country but the more we have veered toward embracing all cultures as American the less meaning that word even has.... in fact, the case could be made that those who have been caught plotting (and sometimes succeeding) to carry out attacks from within .. were "assimilated".

So what are the language, culture and customs of America? What period in time are we using to define these?

Saudi, Qatar, UAE, Oman, & Bahrain are some of the Muslim countries that have good economies.

That you have to ask highlights the trouble we are heading for but even considering where we are at today let me try to answer.

Language- English

Culture- Value individual rights,

Customs Celebrating Independence day, ThanksGiving, and paying higher and higher taxes.

Even the most unassimilated Indian immigrants I know celebrate Thanksgiving. A holiday where you get to take the day off, spend time with family and EAT? Dude, those are universal values.

Now if you expect them to eat turkey, then... well.. that's different. Personally, I can't stand the stuff.

So, you're deciding that the language should be English? I would argue that diversity in language is a key part of American heritage.

A culture that values individual rights, would that not also be a culture that values an individuals right to speak their language, dress how they would like to, basically live the life they would choose? I would think your statement would also extend to allowing people to celebrate whatever holiday they want. I'm born and raised Minnesotan with a whole hell of a lot of Irish and German heritage and my family doesn't really celebrate Thanksgiving, we just get ready to go shopping. Also, working in the tax industry as I do, I see many, MANY people who were born right here in America's heartland who don't pay their taxes. Yet, my husband who immigrated last year pays his. By your definition, has he assimilated better than those who were born American?

Three crime-ridden suburbs of AUS: Lukemba, Punchbowl [orinic] and broadmeadows.

Anyone care to guess the demographic that has moved in there over the last few decades? Strangely enough, as other previous migrants moved out and these fools moved in, the crime shot up.
