For those that remember my post from yesterday.

I went into the Boise Immigration office the morning, waited all of 5 minutes and got to speak to one of the officers. Told him what was going on - my original greencard in Nebraska for corrections, need to show proof of eligibility to work in U.S. for potential employer. He asked me for my passport and the notice from Nebraska. Next thing I knew he stamped away at my passport. No questions, no hassle. I can't believe how stupid I was not to bring my son's passport along with his notice to have his passport stamped. DUH. I asked the officer if I had to bring my son in with me (he's 15 1/2) to have his passport stamped and he said no. So the end result was - no passport photos needed to have them make up temporary cards as had been done twice in past. This time around I got the stamp. I hope to heck I get this guy in future. The previous times I had dealt with women. I wish they were consistent on stuff here.

Congratulations. Now go to the nearest Social Security office and have the restrictions removed.

And when I say now, I mean *now*! :D

Good advice here but now it has to wait until Monday as I have other committments for the rest of the day. I'll actually kill two birds with one stone on Monday - take my son's passport in and get it stamped, take our SS cards in next door to have the restrictions removed.

Thanks.

Take a note from mdyoung---do NOT surrender your old SS card. Just say you don't have it.
