The current processing times are MUCH faster than what they used to be.

Remember, we are in a recession. Where is the US government going to get the money to re-vamp USCIS processing? Will that money come from the military budget? Or perhaps tax hikes? Perhaps we can just borrow more money from China!

Also, It's an election year. No one is going to vote in someone in favour of USCIS processing times which it affects such a small percentage of the population

I know it is tough, we waited 178 days for our NOA-1. That is longer than the current processing times. In fact, when we filed it was 7 month processing, so in just 1 years it has sped up a bit

Good luck

Say you are a foreign worker working in USA on H1B visa or a foreign student studying in USA on F1 visa. Say you go out of the country and marry a foreign citizen. In this case you can bring your wife to USA on dependent visa in about a week or so after marriage. All they have to do is just take an appointment at the consulate and directly apply for the VISA as a dependent. NO USCIS involved. I cannot understand why USCIS cannot make it any faster than the current 5 months. 5 months is too long specially when you know that a non-US citizen can bring his/her spouse immediately in a week's time into the country. Just something to think about.....

I dont agree. It is like anything else in life. If you cant fly first class, then you fly coach. If you you cant afford or you want to economize then go to McDonald's instead of the steak house.

There is premium processing for business for $1000. I would pay $1000 right now if it meant I could be with my wife in a few weeks instead of many months.

You would pay the $1000, and so would many others, if not just about everyone, so we would all be where we are today, at the same point in the process, but with less money............

not necessarily, the extra payment could be used to for the increased cost to add staff to process the petitions in an expedient amount of time.

yeh that def makes sense! if they charge 1000$ for expedite service, even if they get so many people paying the fee, they will be able afford more employees!

USCIS makes ALOT of money from immigration, they receive thousands of petitions and applications per year! they make billions of dollars! they can afford everything, but their main concern is the economy I guess, since the more "aliens" coming to the US, the more jobs that need to exist to satisfy the growing number of the American population. It's all political! Still, I'm mad the way the fiançé visa gets to be approved faster! It should be easier for a married couple to get together because their relationship is more serious than two fiançés (no offense to no I-129f filers)..it's not fair that some people get to fake marriage relationship for the sake of a green card, that loved ones get to be seperated for a very long time especially knowing that it's impossible for your wives and husbands living abroad to get a non-immigrant visa just to visit! Hopefully they'll speed up the process and find better ways to notice a fraud!

One good thing about an i-130 petition is that once the spouse does arrive they receive a green card very quickly. Green cards for fiances take longer. Also an I-130 petition is not subject to the imbra regulations. I submitted my petition almost 4 months ago so hopefully I will not have to wait much longer. The worst part is to wait so long and go through the process then be denied. Then 5-8 months of time have been lost!!! Time is irreplaceable.

yeh I-130 might take longer but it's more efficient when it comes to paperwork reduction! the whole USCIS step for spouses bringing alien spouses should be directly skipped to NVC! that's what should be done! to make it easier for both sides! and leave the fiancé petition and adjustment of status petition to USCIS! but oh well! who listens to our venting! no one!

If USCIS has more staff to handle the case, technically they can complete the I-130 process in 2 months time for MOST of the cases.

1 to 2 months are more than enough to do all paper work including the background checks for MOST of the persons. Some people only get stuck in the name checks and for them there is no other way around until the name check has been cleared.

I hope this thing will happen some time in the future.

who's to say they would use the money to hire employees? if they already make billions, why don't they hire them now?

I would easily pay that, because I would save mega bucks from having to support my wife while I am waiting. I have sent her more than a small fortune already. AND I will be sending another small fortune in the following months. 7 months now and I just got an RFE. Oh well I expected to wait 1 year, but not much over that. I hope a year is still feasible.

My wife will be having major surgery next month and I won't be able to be with her. As you and most people, I would gladly pay an expedite fee to reduce the wait time. I might even pay a little extra they treated me with respect.

You might be eligible for expedited process depending on when USCIS began to work on your petition. Maybe you have already investigated this option.
