Nope, anh = big brother, or a term of respect or endearment used towards males. Map = fat :)

The translation has been discussed here a few times including the proper pronunciation...

As you can see from just the respondents here that experiences can vary. It's safer, but far from a guarantee, to have multiple meetings in a K1 situation. The meetings are just one piece of the puzzle. Documentation of consistent contact (voice, chat, email, text) is also important.

I am one to advise that the petition submission include a detailed timeline of the relationship. That way it is there when the CO in HCMC reviews the file prior to the interview. It's not a requirement, but we have seen a lot of couples get blue slipped for the relationship timeline and a list of any and all beneficiary relatives in the US. I would send both.

While it's expensive and inconvenient the CO won't "give a break" because of it. All of here would up petitioning for our SO's by choice. It's up to each couple to demonstrate a bona fide relationship.

Do some reading here in the Vietnam forum and assess the strengths and weaknesses of your case. Then prepare your submission accordingly. Keep the BIG PICTURE (pink approval slip) in mind. Better to overprepare and waste paper than get a delay. The CO can only evaluate what they see and hear.

Best of luck. Keep the questions coming.

Adding to what Roger noted.. IMO Organization is the key... You can submit a load of stuff, but if it isnt well presented and organized.. the message does not get delivered effectively.. create outlines of what is being presented... organize everything in sections that are clearly defined and address what they are asking/looking for...

In the initial petition.. question 18 provides agreat opportunity to explain who you two are and what the relationship consists of..

Big Brother

They gave in when they saw the box full of chats that she towed into the consulate...

Or the second box of stuff but I personally like to think it was the sealed envelope with pictures I took that I sent her to open and asked her to show them if any trouble of us making out during our private time English lessons.good.gif (Never did ask her if she showed them)

I answer to all of them and assume the best of intentions.

I do too and assume that she loves me.whistling.gif
