The only reason I don't already have Netflix is that I can't have streaming only. I don't want DVDs and I feel like I'm getting ripped off if I get the regular package deal.

Makes zero sense to me that they wouldn't offer it. Zero. Cannot fathom how it could be anything but more money for them to provide options people want and will buy. They can still make certain movies unstreamable if they want to continue to be annoying. Everybody wins.

You feel like $11/month for unlimited streaming and 1/DVD at a time is a rip off? Really? Wow.

I know. I love Michael C. Hall. It's still watchable though.

I want Six Feet Under and Arrested Development back. Forever.

If I cannot use the main product of the service but pay for it anyway because there's no option that fits my minimal needs? Yeah. I didn't say, "Eleven dollars is a lot of money."

Understood. As others have pointed out though, their streaming service is not quite capable of replacing their mail-order arm unless you are happy with only having access to a small subset of their library. I suspect that will happen ASAP as it is considerably more expensive for Netflix to mail a DVD. The biggest challenge, I believe, is licensing. This appears to be why they do not have more titles available to stream now.

Yes that's my understanding. And the available streaming doesn't thrill me, but I would do it for...five or something. Woman does not live on Hulu B-movies alone, and I'm not going to buy a teevee for the 4 things I care about only to find myself watching the 97 other things I don't, including Jersey Shore and other crimes against humanity, just because it's there. Because that will happen.

Limited streaming of a few decent movies for a few bucks a month. That's all I ask.

I watched all 6 years of "Lost" on Netflix. That was quite the marathon.

The Danish series "The Kingdom" is really good also. I have Dexter next up.

Ok, so I watched about 40 minutes of the first episode of Dexter last night and I just couldn't bring myself around to liking the show. I've never been a big fan of detective shows, except for maybe Colombo. The suspension of disbelief vanished during the scene where he's about to kill a man who had molested and killed several children - right at the point that he said, "Even I have standards."

Aha! Heavy handed, right? I just remember sitting there having his motivations delivered to me in cryptic cliche form for the 37th time and thinking, "Please shut up so I can just have a story."

There's something sort of overly precious about the intense inner dialogue all focused on him. We get it. He's special and tortured and complicated. Now hush and get on with it.

So now the definition of "Canadian" is ...

"Unarmed Americans with streaming Netflix" If we don't put an end to this they will go to the moon before we do! Obama is throwing us back into the STONE AGE!
