Hola, My wife needs to have her name changed to her married name. We need to get our certified marriage license translated to a certified Spanish copy. What is the best way to do this?

Hi Zee!!

The only way to get a certified translation is by going to a certified translator. Depending on the country you are submitting your papers to, you may need a notary to stamp it as well.

If you need to have a certified Spanish translation, I would recommend that you go to the embassy or consulate of the country you are going to present your documents to, and there they will tell you all the requirements and, 99 times out of 100, they'll have a list of translation services you can use, and that they know are aware of everything needed to validate that paper.

If you can't go to the embassy to get a recommendation, I can suggest this English to Spanish Translation service. But I'm not sure if they can validate the marriage records you have, so I'd still try the embassy first if possible.

Hope it helps!
