Hi Guys,

A while back I posted a thread regarding a trip to the US i had planned for business. I am in the process of a K-1 visa and we are awaiting approval after we sent our RFE back. CSC is our service center. I posted before regarding my worries about travelling to US even though i had a visa processing.

I decided to take the chance and go to the states as it was important i attended a meeting in Dallas. I had a connecting flight in JFK. I set off on the 30th of June from London Heathrow bound for JFK. When i landed and got the customs and immigration area i approached the officer. He took my passport and didnt say anything, he took my finger prints andd photograph and stamped me in.

Everything went smoothly and there was no mention of anything at all. So it is possible to travel to the US even though your VISA is processing. I had my whole life on paper just in case. Documents included things such as lease agreements, bills, employment documentation, future travel plans.

12-1-2006 - INTERVIEW - approved

12-14-2006 - Amie moves back home

1-1-2007 - Martin moves over

1-16-2007 - SSN received

3-18-2007 - MARRIED!

It's nice to know that you can enter the U.S. while the visa is processing, especially as this has been a concern of mine over a visit that my fiancee' plans on having soon. It's good to know.

Glad you had a pleasant experience.

I travelled to the U.S. from Canada by car on many occasions with no problems while we were awaiting approval of our Visa.

Feb. 22/06... AOS Interview - APPROVED!!!!! (Passport NOT stamped)

Dec. 4/07... I-751 sent to NSC

May 23/08... 10-Yr. PR Card arrives in the mail

Mar. 22/11.... N-400 sent to AZ

June 27/11..... Interview - PASSED!!!

July 12/11..... Oath Ceremony

Jul 5 - Receipt date for I-130 petition for my over 21 brother and his wife (both in the UK)

2024

Feb 23 - Sent USCIS a message asking for a processing update

May 6 - Received an email response saying things were progressing normally but that waiting times might be longer

If your fiance(s) can travel to US without any problem, why is it that you don't just get married here and start the process here instead of going through K-1 visa? I heard from a friend who used to work in immigration that that is the fastest way to get your fiance in, then K-1 is next.

05/28/07 - Applied for Joan's SSN - no problems - got it in mail a few days later

07/09/07 - Got Maui'd in Hawaii Wedding Photos

07/19/07 - Got vaccination for Joan (she didn't get it in Phil)

08/15/07 - Filed our AOS papers

10/--/07 - Found out we sent the papers to wrong office. We've called several times to get this clarified but all got is that we need to WAIT for our papers to be forwarded or returned to us.

10/--/07 - We got our papers back.... ngngngng and re-sent it to the right office

01/23/08 - Got our interview date

03/10/08 - INTERVIEW DONE!! Our Interview Experience
