Juju wassup. Are u sure he needs a social security # to apply for his DL?

So final overview parents came in dec 19 went back home on jan. 2 (2weeks). They will be back sometime prior to July 3, 2011. Applied for SSNs on Dec. 20 .... Mom got her Ssn/card on dec. 27 (1 week). Dad ended up leaving and didnt get his SSN (its ok he isn't looking for any work). Dec. 28S ent off I-130 for my brother with mom as the petitioner. Dad/mom open a bank account, got their DL/ID on dec. 29. Dad said the test of 30 questions were easy.. The I130 packet delivered to chicago lockbox also. Jan. 2 they went home, Jan. 3 got email notification of acceptance of the the I130 with priority date (december 30, 2010). January 5 received 4 letters (2each) from USCIS saying the received the case file from the POE and welcome letters. , Jan 6 received NOA1 hard copy for brother, 2 Priority mails(red envelope) from USCIS containing their Newly designed "acual greencards" , his check card from the great Bank of America... Told my granny... Postman must have been really busy.

Hey Ricardo,

Yeah, in New York they go by a points system based on the documents you have (Ids etc.) With his passport and Green card, he doesn't have enough points and he has no other documents to make up the difference. So he will have to wait for his social. Non, it took them (USCIS) a whole week to get his package from the airport and then a week to process and on Christmas eve he received his green card, yeah, the actual green card, lol. We sort of dragged our feet when it came to the social, because we really though they would send it. Oh well, that is life.

It looks like your parents were quite busy during their brief stay. They got a lot done. Now, back to warm Jamaica. Good luck with your brother's petition. I hope it doesn't take too long.
