I called the call center that the Embassy told me to call for information on my case. The cost to do so was $18. I spoke to a lady there regarding my case and she told me the Embassy received the document on Nov 5th and that I would have to wait 6-8 weeks to find out if the VISA was approved of if other documentation was needed. #######!!!!!!!!!! Save your $$$ People This entire process is a joke. They can't even do the simplest of things properly. To tell me something so uninformative and then have the gall to charge $18 to do so speaks Volumes. I hope the Son of B can some day suffer similar fates. I though the ARMY was F-up but this group makes them pale in comparison.

I'm so sorry it is so frustrating. On the U.S. Embassy in Guyana they have a section for case updates. It is a very long PDF file with case numbers and the status of the particular file. Perhaps, (I'm hoping) they have something similar on the U.S Embassy in the Philippines.

Thank Jujuswife but there is no need for your being sorry. Its this Government Agency who had performed a disservice in my opinion. Just as many other departments have. If they have such a PDF File in Manila they do a great job of keeping it a secret because the Call Center contact information was provided to me as a result of a inquiry I made directly to the Embassy in Manila.

I understand that it was our mistake for not to have the original document available at the interview. I also understand that it would and should take additional time to have our VISA issued as a result of our mistake but in my opinion there is no Justification for it taking 6 weeks or even 2 weeks! Then they make this information available to some 3rd party who can only read the status off of a computer screen is a perfect example of a government who has lost its way and fails to understand it purpose. They could allow us access to this so called privileged information without compromising our or their security. Hell they might even reduce the need for most of us to call them when we are confused or wonder what our status is. However in doing that they would also reduce staffing needs. God forbid. They do not serve, they dictate and hold themselves on high. Its not a privilege we are asking for when we petition for our spouses to enter the US. Its our right as Citizens. The immigration departments role should be to ensure that we are sincere and honest in our request without prejudice and protect this nation from outside threats. It should not be to cause undue hardship and frustration to its citizenry. I know I would not want to depend on these people for help if I even was overseas and needed their assistance.

I have as a US Citizen served this Nation in war and peace. I have paid taxes since I was 14 years old. I have never been convicted or any crimes other than a traffic violation yet I see others who have done far less receive great consideration than me. Their cases are expedited for reasons which in my view have no more merit than mine and they as individuals have given of themselves far less than me to deserve better and faster service. I cant change what this Government has become but I can still voice my opinion and cast my vote. As I grow older my time is more precious to me because I have less of it left and I don't like these incompetent ingrates wasting even minutes of it let alone months of my life unnecessarily.

I know for the remaining years of my life this treatment will not be forgotten and when ever I have an opportunity to shine a light on it I will without a second though. I have already written a few letter expressing my feeling to other agencies. I don't expect those to make any difference but if they cause even the slightness inconvenience to someone I would be pleased. Guess you can tell I am :ranting::angry::yes::protest: Okay I feel better now...
