omg!!!!!! VISA APPROVE!!!!!!!! :dance::dance:

CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance::dance: Wish you all the best!!!:dance:

I wish I could say the same but I still am not sure. I spoke to my wife today. Boy Filipinos are hard headed and will not accept responsibility!!! I am speaking of my wife of course. First off I tell her I am not happy that she waited so long to inform me about whats going on. So she said I already told you I am sorry in the email.:cry: Well you should know me by now. I can not let that stand. So I told her "I am sorry" are only words that have little meaning unless they are accompanied by action. They are not a get out of jail free card. Then I said oh I am sorry. Then I ask her to tell me what happened and she softly proceeded.

Turns out when she got her passport renewed last month to reflect her name change. They took her Marriage Certificate(NBO)at the Passport office. Then my little one only had a copy of the NBO. The Embassy wanted the Original. DAH!!!!!! We had already provided an Original but it was not an NBO and so she had to go to the NBO office to get one again. Then they told her that the Embassy will come by and pick it up. Really? <_< When? The Embassy did not tell her if she was approved or not and she didn't ask. I am getting warmer by the minute.:angry: She said the people there were not nice to her except for this Black man. She spoke with 4 people total. I ask if she got the original documents back and her new passport. She said they are going to mail it to her with the results. <_< I am hoping that the NBO will satisfy the Embassy and we get the approval but time is of the essence now as I have her ticket purchased for Dec 1. I told her to call the NBO Friday at 330 pm to see if the embassy picked our M. Cert Up. Then on Monday I wanted her to call the Embassy to see if they have it and when we can expect the Passport and other documents with our Visa. She said she would do these things. I am the bad guy now for a few day I think.

She said it was not her fault and I said NO it is your fault. You should have gotten another NBO if the one you had was used at the passport place. Why the Philippines have all the NBI, CFO, NBO bull SH** I do not know other then revenue generation and too much fraud. Glad we dont have to go to Washington DC every time we need a document.

Whew I feel better now.

So in short I dont know if we have a problem or not Houston. I am thinking not but I can not claim approval until I have something stating such. Thanks for letting me rant... :bonk::bonk::bonk: I am hoping that this is all dont soon.. I am starting to feel old............. :(:blink:

hi tomd..

sad to hear about that... but let me ask you first... is it really NBO or NSO? cause if your speaking about NSO Marriage certificate.. when you renew you passport or a certain documents here in the philippines they really ask for your original copies (which is NSO copy) birth or marriage certificate... and your wife should really get a copy of it so that she can present it to the embassy or to the consul. and she can get a copy of it for just an hours.. cause before i have the interview this morning, yesterday i went to the NSO to get a copy of our marriage certificate,, i got there by 8am and was release around 10am... to tell your wife to be there early so that she could get it right away. so that she could call the embassy,

dont worry tomd everything will be alright... maybe they only want proof cause as you've said.. when she renew her passport her name change.. maybe the embassy/consul just want some proof... =) cheer up!!!!!!!!!!

but honestly when i have my interview early this morning... i could say that people in the embassy are nice... the filipino pre-screener just ask this questions...

-who's petitioning you..

-where did you meet..

-when did you meet...

-how many times did he visited you...

-when did you get married...

-is this your first marriage...

-do you have children...

-is she a us citizen...

then she ask for my daughter's crba and us passport..

then she ask again...

... do you have pictures together... so i gave her all the pictures i have prepare...

then she told me to wait again for my number for the finger scanning...

all in all i got the 5:45 and finished at around 8:45...

Hi Tom,

Sorry for all the hassle. I do have a question for you, regarding this 'NBO.' Having spent a ton of time in the Phils, and having dealt with a lot of paperchasing while there (for example, getting my son both his Philippines and U.S. passports) I never encountered any agency called or abbreviated 'NBO,' and google turns up nothing. AFAIK, the only agency there that issues CERMARs (marriage certificates) is the NSO, who you also mention later in your post. I'm both concerned in confused regarding 'NBO.' Can you or someone else set me straight?

Thanks,

Jon

PS - I agree with the above poster, it would be a good idea for your wife to go to the NSO (assuming this is what it is) and get that CEMAR and walk it over to the embassy. I really doubt embassy staff are going to go get a copy for her? In fact, I'd bet my eyeteeth against it....

Thanks for the update Tom, our BP have lowered a bit.

She did drop the ball on the MC but I think that everything will be ok - she just have to stay on top of things & keep calling.

As the above posters stated, I do think that it would have been better & quicker if she did get the required NSO document & walk it over herself.

Last week my wife went to amend her passport to reflect my last name & they did take her marriage certificate but she have another one. I told her that she needed original document to bring to the US embassy - so she went to get extra NSO marriage Certificate, NSO Birth Certificate & NBI Clearance. Either tomorrow or Monday, she will go get an other NBI clearance to the name on her amended passport, so she will have 2 NBI - one with her maiden name & one with her married name (aka name).

Yes it is is NSO - not NBO. I think he was typing too fast :P

hi tomd..

sad to hear about that... but let me ask you first... is it really NBO or NSO? cause if your speaking about NSO Marriage certificate.. when you renew you passport or a certain documents here in the philippines they really ask for your original copies (which is NSO copy) birth or marriage certificate... and your wife should really get a copy of it so that she can present it to the embassy or to the consul. and she can get a copy of it for just an hours.. cause before i have the interview this morning, yesterday i went to the NSO to get a copy of our marriage certificate,, i got there by 8am and was release around 10am... to tell your wife to be there early so that she could get it right away. so that she could call the embassy,

dont worry tomd everything will be alright... maybe they only want proof cause as you've said.. when she renew her passport her name change.. maybe the embassy/consul just want some proof...

Hi 'nix and lai',

As you know I am happy for you.

It might be NSO. She had a copy of the NSO but the Embassy wanted the Original. She explained that they took it when she got her passport and that was the problem. How FU** many Originals do people think that their are. They should be asking for cerified copies in my view. I just wish she would have been better prepared.

She went to the NSO office and got the document or paid for it and they told her she didnt need to give it to the embassy that they would be picking it up. Sounded strange to me so I told her to call them tomorrow at 330 pm and see if it was picked up. If not she needs to go to manila again and return to the embassy. If NSO said it has been picked up I want her to cal lthe embassy on Monday to verify they have it.

I also told her that everything I read said that the Embassy people were nice so I think it must have been her. I know she can be difficult even her mom says so. :bonk: I think the family is happy that we married and she is leaving. They will have peace. She didnt like hearing that either. Sometimes people can also sense if you're stiff and then they become stiff.

just courious Did you have a NSO Marriage Certificate? They keep all her documents and passport so I am sure it will be fine but this was all unnessasary. They will courior them to her house I just need that to happen ASAP or atleast within 15-20 days or other things will begin to get messy.

She was not happy after we got off the phone I know that. She is just trying to do to many things and she dropped the ball. Her job should have taken a back seat and she should have gotten more envolved but she seems addictied to it.

Well I am going to get my mind off this for a while .

Take care ALL.
