Thanks again. I ask her earlier if she paid for the delivery cost of the Courier and she said they said she can pay when they deliver. I hate these kinds of response because I see potential problems... I will forward you response to her and tell her again that she needs to call and get assurance that we have done all that we can. I am leaning toward having her go back to Manila its only 2 1/2 hours for her and then we will be sure.

Tom the kingstion, jamaica consulate said that DHL would accept payment when the packet arrived...COD- Cash On Delivery.

Thanks Ricardo. I am just gun shy now because of resent events so I am trying to cover all bases. I also do not want to give her any room for additional mistakes. I know she is not liking the attention and directions I am now giving her. :blink: However, I dont like all of this extra stuff we are having to do because she give the time to didnt properly prepare and understand what was required of her. :bonk::blush: Hopefully we both will learn from this. :yes:

I have emailed my embassy several times and they usually are prompt with their replies.However, I emailed them recently, on Wednesday to reschedule my husband's interview, but I got no response. Friday was a holiday in Guyana, so they were close. I'm hoping I get a response from them on Monday. Good luck with everything TomD.

I want an earlier date because my husband completed his medical since October 15, 2010. The NVC sent his case file on October 26, which they received in Guyana on Monday. I'm hoping to get him an earlier date before Thanksgiving.

02-25-2010 : Received NVC case number, but NVC is closed, so I can't give an operator our emails. :-(

02-27-2010 : Jumped the gun and emailed the VJ version of the DS 3032. Who knows what will happen :-)

03-01-2010 : Gave the operator both emails...waiting on DS3032 kit

03-02-2010 : Received DS3032 Kit; Resent DS3032 (just in case), Received AOS bill.

03-03-2010 : Paid AOS and IV bills; both are IN PROCESS

03-03-2010 : VJ email version of the DS3032 accepted (It was the one that was sent on 02-27-2010)

03-11-2010 : Both AOS + IV showed paid but processed on 03-05-2010 :-)

03-12-2010 : Mailed AOS packet. Waiting on my procrastinating hubby to send me his IV docs :-(

03-15-2010 : AOS signed for by St. Laurent at 10:03 a.m.

07-19-2010 : Received IV documents from hubby (Finally)

07-20-2010 : Mailed IV packet

07-21-2010 : IV Packet signed for by Peters at 10:15 a.m. (St. Laurent and Desmond are probably on vacation lol)

07-26-2010 : NVC starts processing IV Packet

08-20-2010 : Called NVC and was told that we received a "stupid" RFE on 08-18-2010

09-03-2010 : RFE sent to the NVC today....SIF please come quickly.

09-07-2010 : RFE signed for by Desmond at 10:16 a.m.

09-10-2010 : NVC acknowledges receipt of the RFE

09-30-2010 : SIF

10-01-2010 : Case complete as per NVC AVR

10-05-2010 : Interview date assigned for November 29, 2010 at 7:00 a.m. Approved

talk about mistakes? here is one for you, ok maybe a few.

NVC screwed up, told us that one of our police certificates was not good. So, we all know what happens when you get a checklist, EVERYTHING GETS PUT ON HOLD! So, I don't pay attention calling the avr or even logging on to see if we get a sif. I call my wife immediately after learning that we need a new police certificate. She goes and mails it on 10/5/2010. On 10/14/2010, I receive and email from NVC, case complete and your date is 11/8/2010 for interview. ( yep, thats tomorrow ). Now need to get medicals done. No dr in wife's city, closest location is 1 hr plane ride, (she has never flown before, nor accustomed to being by herself in a strange place). I had her schedule a dr appt for Recife, they informed her that she needed to have a female exam before the certified medical and bring the results. Unfortunately that fell through, so now time was getting tight. I had a friend of mine call Rio (location of interview) and schedule an appointment for her on thursday, including female exam and to be sure that we can get all the results as needed before the interview. they assured us you can have all the results in the same day! So Thursday went to the medical, quick in and out, ok, now you need to go get your x-ray, (another building), then vaccines (still another building) then to the gyno dr, still yet another building. On arrival at the gyno dr, she was fully booked, and of coarse only works on Tues and Thurs. So no it is to late in the day to call the dr for another gyno, so we had to wait till Friday to call. We called first thing in the morning, dr says NOPE, gotta go to this one! So now what do we do? have no medical results for the interview on Monday. The dr was going to email the embassy and explain the situation, so the best I can figure is we go to the interview and if everything is ok, we get approved pending medical results. Then, first thing Tuesday morning, we go back to the gyno, and hopefully the gyno has the time to do this exam. Then go back to the certified dr for certification and results, then go back to the embassy and get the official approval. All this just adds more stress to an already stressful situation.

So Tom, I understand your wanting to make sure everything is covered. I would stress to all USC, that most foreign spouses do not understand the procedures and the government ####### that you need to go through to get this visa. Stay involved with every step and decision and hope you don't get stuck in the same position that I am in now. Even the slightest flaw could screw up so many things at this point in the game.

Wow that's quite a story Kevin. I feel your pain and Im sorry for you having to go through it. I dont see what else she can do at this point but have her go to the interview. I am surprised that you & your wife didn't check your email for several weeks. Having said that, your right we do need to stay involve and I think both parties do. I think often the confusion comes from not getting involved (not in your case) I dont see USC's being smarter than others but many countries seem to lack discipline or something. Each party has a part to do and check each other. I was not successful in making that happen. We were 99% correct and the 1% got us. Just like you are experiencing now, a simple thing now is causing major problems. Hope it all works out for you. I know it might set you back some but it shouldn't be a show stopper. I am still waiting for my wife to call me. I know she is putting it off because she is feels bad. To me that is not a mature way to deal with problems. Well thats just me I know. Well hopefully she will call me tonight and I only want to ask her 1 question... Hope she has the right answer. haha..

So I feel better and all we do now is wait for the courier to deliver the goods. :wacko::wacko: boy what a ride cant wait for the guy to show up and see if the VISA in included with the passport. you see tomd... i told you... they are only asking for proof... and since the embassy has already the document they needed... it's gonna be all right... i got my visa 2 days after the interview... so i think expect the good news within this week.... good luck!!!!!!!!!!! :dance:

-NVC sent checklist letter (for the 2 AOS RFE's): 11/13/10

-NVC operator says the IV package has been entered: 11/18/10

-E-mailed SUE to see if that would do anything (3 diff times...): 11/29/30/10

-Sent AOS RFE's: 12/1/10

-AOS RFE's received: 12/2/10

-Checked payment portal for fun (SIF!!!!): 12/3/10

-AVR still say AOS missing info: 12/3/10

-NVC operator says case was shipped to USE in Lima: 12/3/10

-Received interview date (12/13/10): JANUARY 6th, 2011!!

-Medical: 12/21/10- Passed :)

-Interivew: 1/6/11- PASSED :D

-Visa received- 1/13/11

-POE FLL- 1/23/11 YES! BUTTTTTTT....still not reunited :'( (Reunited on the 24th)
