Do they courier the visa the day it is issued?

Question: How long after they issue the visa does it take for them to courier it out? Ours isn't issued yet, but I'm just looking for a ballpark. We're wanting to book his ticket for October 13th, so we've got three weeks, but the closer we get to the date, the more we're going to end up paying.

Any ideas?

Normally between 2 - 7 days after the interview. I have know people wait up to 3 weeks on rare occasions.

It's supposed to be less than a week. We allowed for a little over 2 weeks from the interview "just in case" and "we" meaning "me"...lol. It's a good thing too...he's going to barely get his passport in time to leave.

I was approved yesterday and the nice young lady who approved me told me it will take them 7-10 days to process the paperwork and the courier told me it would take 2-5 days for them to deliver it. So i'm assuming it takes at least 9 days from the interview and 15 days at most. Will just have to wait see.

I am so jealous of all of you! I am still in the process to have my cute british husband join me here in America. We have not seen each other since February of this year when I had to fly back due to my grandmother being ill in the hospital. We are at the end of the process with the NVC now and I just want this nightmare of being apart over with now!

I know the feeling, Hunny. Honestly, I've only spent a week with Peter in the past year. He was here one year ago, and I went there in March for spring break. Since then, we've not seen each other, and telephones just don't help when you want someone to snuggle with.

He'll be here in 20 days!!!! We're buying the tickets tomorrow!!

Wait about 3 business days to call, because they won't have any updates until the day AFTER it was issued. Though I think they can see that it's being issued because you could HEAR the smile in the girl's voice when she told me yesterday that it "wouldn't be too long". I could tell something was up. This morning, they said it was issued yesterday. I checked the DX website and it's scheduled for delivery tomorrow!! Which is great, because Peter has jobs scheduled today and all weekend, so he'll be home tomorrow!!

(Mind the Gap) Thanks for the reply. It seems the steps to get him here goes on and on. It can be very frustrating, but I do my best to focus on the final outcome.

Are they still doing SMS notification? I was texted to inform me that it was issued and would be at my house 8am the next day. So TWO DAYS after my interview, I had it.

They didn't offer it to us, and I didn't get an email, neither did he. (I know they had my email because the DOS made me verify it sometimes when I called while waiting for P3 to be logged/interview to be scheduled.) DX gave him a tracking number when he paid the fee and the website to look it up. I've been calling the DOS for 2 days to see if it had been issued. They told me this morning, so I checked on the DX website and it says it's scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

I was interviewed on tuesday. On the courier slip it asks for your name your address and your mobile phone number so they can text you and let you know when they will deliver, i was so nervous i couldnt remember my own mobile number and didnt think to give them a friends RME so have just been checking DX web site and to my surprise at noon today it changed from saying they had no record of my tracking number to saying it will be delivered tomorrow. I thought they offered the same service to everyone i didnt see anyone sitting around me with a different courier form. Anyway I'm taking them at thier word and booking flights tonight for the beginning of next week. Being a true Scot i'm way to tight to pay the extra for weekend flights so will be flying out tuesday or wednesday lol. We havent seen each other since june last year our son probably doesnt even remember his daddy for real just knows him on web cam. I'm over the moon that we will all be together for his 2nd birthday on the 6th of october. The time apart and the never ending waiting has been hell but at the same time it has brought us closer together and stronger.
