FINALLY someone from Lebanon who is going through AP! I have searched this forum for months now and no one is from Lebanon (like me) until now. I read your post and I want to ask...was your husband approved for his waiver or are you still waiting for his waiver (because a waiver is different than AP)? Let me tell you a little bit about my visa journey:

My husband received an approval for his waiver October 15, 2009 after 5 months of waiting BUT since November 11, 2009 he has been put on administrative processing (name checks, clearances, etc) and the embassy in Beirut has not been able to issue his visa until his AP is over. So, we have been waiting almost 11 months for his AP and still nothing (not counting the 5 months we had to wait for his waiver). I don't mean to upset you but it seems as if every other AP from another country finishes so much earlier and there is no one else from Lebanon who is going through what I am until now. I have a link for the US embassy in Athens where I'm sure your husbands waiver is at now (because all waivers in Lebanon get adjudicated in athens, not Lebanon) and you can check the status of your case on the website using your case number. Let me know if you need it, and I hope you write back because trust me, all this waiting is driving me crazy too so having someone to talk about it with is really helpful!

Thanks and good luck!

It is rare to find someone going through lebanon. I hope your wait ends soon.

My waiver was denied in 2006 in the middle of the war. So I gave up on it and didn't apeal or anything. I moved to lebanon and waited out the rest of the time. My husbands 10 years just ended in the end of august and they put us is AP after that. They told him everything looks good and he just has to wait. They told us to contact them if they don't contact us in 10 weeks. It has been 8 weeks now. So in a couple of weeks I will contact them. They information I have gotten from people here that have gone through this and someone is that AP takes between 1 week and 6 weeks. But you know that with AP each case is different.

This AP has frozen our lives. We can't move forward, all we can do is wait to start our lives.

So do you live is lebanon or the USA.

Good Luck

I do have a couple of questions. You can message them to me, if you don't wnat to answer on the post.

1. Why did your husband need a waiver. what was his problem. Did he have an overstay or something else. Did he go through the courts in America.

2. Are you also Lebanese.

3. Do you guys have any children.

I am trying to figure out reasons your case is taking so long.

Good Luck. keep me updated

My husband had his interview in Lebanon December 28th 2010 and everything went fine and then they gave him the 221g white paper saying that they need a letter from me (wife) why i didn't file 2009 taxes, and also they needed papers for the cars that he sells. We turned it in the next day. I don't know how long its going to take. How long did it take you guys?

I have been to Lebanon and getting married there is quite easy. Marriages are done through the courts, and whether or not you wish for a religious authority to mary you is your choice i.e. precher, sheik, etc. In other words, civil marriages are recognized. Filing with the embassy is also a breeze but in my experience, it's the AP there that's a real inconvenience. I hope you will not have to go through AP from Lebanon because being through it once is enough! My husband has been in AP from Lebanon for over a year and 3 months.

On a brighter note, while you are there please take advantage of Lebanon's beauty; it's quite an intoxiciating country if you know where to visit. Good luck and please keep us posted!!!

Yes, Just like Zeek said you can marry however way you like. Also i know that if you leave here with your husband for more than 6 months you are able to file at the U.S Embassy in Lebanon and get the correct paperwork that's needed and i heard this process goes by pretty good. I've been living with my husband since April but i filed from the U.S. Just make sure you have every proof you can get about ur marriage and also make sure u have all the paper work... Good Luck!

Also you will love it in Lebanon verrryyy Beautiful!

Hi everyone,

Well i just signed up for visa journey...Hope everyone is still SANE!!

I had my interview at the U.S embassy, on June the 2nd and they required further doc. they received them on the 25th of July. and told me that my case was being processed...on the 25th of August they sent me an email requesting to hand in my p.p to bring my case to completion :) and so i did...and was given a red card/receipt and told to pick it up the next week... then :( the next day the call me to pick up my passport because they are not done with AP...and told me to wait until they contacted me again....that day was an extremely horrible day!!! mind you that they sent two emails to me to give them my passport!!!

Has this happened to anyone? does anyone know where this AP takes place? they told my in the US, just earlier my wife contacted the DOS and they told her it's pending in Lebanon and they have approved it at their end, and whats worse my wife has just given birth on the 8th of sep. and I am so pissed.

Any suggestions? I have become a professor in this matter until AP came up
