Anybody here lives in or near St.Louis, Missouri? Can you share something about it?

I wanna know about it because I will move to St.Louis, Missouri. I want to know how things going on there esp for minority. I want to adjust as soon as I can. I will live there alone for couple of months before husband join me. When I was in the airport, an airport staff approached because he recognized me as a Filipina, and telling me that his wife is a Filipina too. He is so nice man and told me that there are lots of Filipino in St.Louis.

I am just starting journey, have been on line with filipina for months and will visit in April. Anyway, I live in Arkansas but have been to St Louis as tourist several times. You will like it alot I hope, lots of things to see, parks good school system in most areas and lots of great Italian restaurants and I hope you will enjoy.

Great! I will miss so much snow though. Have an idea what area of St.Louis should I find apartment that is safe? My workplace is in downtown St.Louis and I will have night shift work. I don't want to drive longer than 20 mins.

here I think is the good and bad about downtown St Louis. Alot of the downtown is redone but the area around it is still rough in some areas. My friend told me you go through a bad neighborhood and then suddenly a nice old area, and this is thoughout St Louis, so maybe the best is to just get something very temporary until you discover the area you want. Do not have to tell you to stay out of East St Louis, I hope.

Yep! Definitely no East St.Louis, my husband told me so. Thanks for the info though. I am looking around North-West part at this time.

We live in the St. Louis area and yes there are many filipinas here!

Do not have worries about St. Louis!

It is a very nice small city.

Yes there are a few areas that would be better to stay away from but it is not different from any city then!

Several areas around St. Louis have numerous filipinas so do not have concern.

You can get to downtown St Louis quickly from almost anywhere North, South, or West sides of St Louis.

If you like being downtown....you can find an apartment that will suit you...but it may be more difficult to find filipinas there as I think most live on the outskirts of St Louis.

Asian/Philippines grocery stores, fresh seafoods, farmers markets around as well.....

Depending on when you get here......you may need warm clothing very quickly :lol:

Yehey! LoL. I am happy to know. I will be there by October 3rd because I still have wedding to attend. My husband will accompany me for one week, and then he will move to me after 4 months or when things are settled here in IL. I don't have yet apartment, will look for it this week.

i been in st, louis once but according to school record of MO theres a lot of filipino living there but where in st. louis you are going to move?

I don't have yet apartment in St.Louis but definitely will find one near my work 'coz I don't want to drive more 20 mins away from work.

I am looking around central and downtown, and also around west. I will be in St.Louis next Sunday. Any idea, how much a**hole drivers St.Louis have? Hehehehe... Kinda worried about it 'coz here in our place right now, kinda a lot.
