but now one of my friend told me that LPR can apply I_30 for his wife and the processing time is only 5 months from the applying date.and when i saw the official website of USCIS,it also says the 5 months processing time for LPR who file I-30 for his spouse.what is this?is there any change by USCIS for I-30?if it is,can i file I-30 for my wife and meet her within 6 months? i am in big dillema.can anyone help me for this issues?

Hi there.

You may want to update your timeline to include information on which country your wife lives, as well as any unique circumstances you think will affect the outcome of her application.

Yes, you may sponsor your wife even though you are not yet a US citizen. Currently, the average timeline for approval is 5 months, but it may be longer depending on a number of factors which can delay the application. Lucky for you, VJ has Regional Discussion forums so you may connect with other members who are from her home country and can offer excellent advice.

Good luck with your journey.

LPR can file for a spouse and the processing time is 5months at USCIS. However I am most sure there is a limit on the number of spousal visas available for spouses of LPR. So even though your case may be approved in 5 months and then forwarded to NVC.....it stays at NVC until the priority date for your spouse becomes current.
