Hi,

I think I read somewhere that the originals documents we gave will be returned at time of interview. Is this correct? Does the applicant need to ask for it?

That's unlikely.

All of the documents that you submit prior to the interview will be part of your file. Anything that you bring to the interview should be copies with originals available for inspection if the CO asks for it.

If you made copies of the originals you sent in, you may be able to ask for the originals back and give them the copies.

All you can do is ask!!

I think OP is asking the originals submitted to NVC will be returned after the Consulate interview. It that's correct, yes they will be returned. Wait until the interview is complete. If CO forgets to return it, just remind him/her.

Any originals submitted to USCIS (other than RFE response) will be part of your file. Then you need written request to return it.

Yes, Loto is correct. Sorry if I was unclear. I meant to ask the originals submitted to NVC will be returned at/after the Consulate interview.

Thank everyone who answered. I personaly had the same question, and now I am hoping I will finally see my originals at the time of my interview on Oct 14th. If something goes wrong I will definitely post it here! Best wishes to OP and everyone!
