Hi guys,

I am a green card holder and i was wondering how long it takes for a fiancee visa to get approved? second, We are thinking of getting married sometime late next year and how long will it take for spouse visa?

Since i am new to everything can someone shed some light pleasE?

One of my fried is a refugee and wants to bring her spouse to USA how long does that take?

For the benefit of other VJ members viewing your post, you may want to update your personal profile and provide members with some additional information (like the country of origin of your fiance(e)).

From there, members who have been in your situation before can provide you with specific answers.

Depending on your circumstances there are specific timelines and requirements for the visa applications you are asking about...

As for your friend's concern, it may be helpful if s/he will also need to provide some information on the country where his/her spouse is now, how long s/he has been a refugee and if s/he has taken steps for obtaining permanent residence.

N-400 Timeline

02-23-2018: Sent N-400 Application online

02-23-2018: Date on NOA, retrieved from online account

02-23-2018: Date on Biometrics Appointment Letter (Biometrics Appointment at Jacksonville ASC on March 13, 10:00 a.m.)

03-08-2018: Biometrics complete

04-05-2018: Case status updated - Interview Scheduled on May 10, 2018, 10:15 a.m. :D

05-10-2018: Citizenship Interview - Passed English and Civics Tests, Recommended for Approval! :D 

06-19-2018: Received email and text notification: Naturalization Ceremony Scheduled; waited for letter to be uploaded on online account - it has been set on Wednesday, July 25, 3:00 p.m.

07-25-2018: I am now a U.S. Citizen!

only US Citizens can file for fiance.
