Hi everyone, just a little confused not sure what to do.

My question is this : Should I file the I-129F , if i already filed the I-130 almost 3 months ago, and have not heard anything yet? I know that its a long waiting period and everything. But i see that the k-3 are getting approved so much faster. I also read that the k-3 cancel out if you already did the I- 130 so i am just confused can anyone please clarify this for me.

K3 is no longer available since February 1, 2010.

You just have to wait for the I-130 to finish processing and proceed with CR1/IR1...currently, it takes an average of 5 months to complete processing, provided you do not receive any RFEs or experience no other delays (based on known USCIS timelines across all service centers).

Hi everyone, just a little confused not sure what to do.

...But i see that the k-3 are getting approved so much faster...

Where did you get this information? Sending in the I-129F seems to slow down the process. Both 130 and 129F are approved on the same day (a few weeks later compared to just 130), NVC closes the 129F, and you end up with the 130 (IR-1 visa) anyway.

Compare the timelines for yourself

130 + 129F (few weeks slower) http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?visa=2&form=2&scenter=1&option=3&sortby=2

130 alone http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?visa=3&form=2&scenter=1&option=3&sortby=2

And yes, I did apply for K-3, but see how long it took for my NOA2s... and NVC will probably kill my K-3 petition anyway, will find out soon enough...

From I129F which is filled for K3 VISA are still available. You can file for those. But since K3 and IR1/CR1 VISA end up taking just about the same amount of time, it's probably better to just do IR1/CR1. Please refer to this Department of State notice for more information. http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2993.html#21
