GC for My mother:

If you are applying to bring your mother to live in the United States, you must file the following with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (please note: if you have been legally adopted, you may not petition for your birth parent):

Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative (if you are filing for both parents, you must file a separate petition for each parent)

A copy of your birth certificate showing your name and your mother’s name

If your name or your mother’s name is different now than at the time of your birth, you must provide evidence of the legal name change.

If you were not born in the United States, a copy of either

your Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship or

your U.S. passport

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

As I don't have my birth certificate what should I submit? (At the time of my GC I produced to document No Birth Record available and then Submitted the affidavit from my family members about my birth details)

you might have to get a DNA test. usually you submit a birth certificate with you and your mom's name on it. you have to proove that your mom is your mom.

We're not sure if the same documents you submitted at that time would be enough

not for now, the first form is the only form you need to send out now, the i130, payment and documents prooving your relationship with your mom. that's all for now.

Thanks for the update. I am going through all the forms (I-130 and Later stage one) and the required documents needed with all the forms, hence I asked that question.

DS-230 is to be filled with applicant's information or with my (Petitioner/Sponser) information?

The DS-230 is the Visa Application for the Intending Immigrant (yer mother)

so, when YOU (the petitioner) fill it out for HER,

use HER voice when writing, not yours.

Thanks.

In my case I am filing for my mother so I need to fill DS-230

1. Once for myself

2. Once for my mother?

only once, and it's HER VISA APPLICATION (not yours).

It's normally submitted during NVC processing,

never on initial I-130 submittal.

Thanks a lot for helping with all these small , however important , matters.
