NVC case Sent to Mumbai consulate

Hello all,

NVC said our case was sent out on the 11th. I tracked DHL and it tells me that a package left for Mumbai on the 14th and was delivered on the 17th.

I e-mailed Mumbai consulate with the case number today (18th) and they replied back that they do not have that case yet..?

Any ideas? Does it take them a few days to enter it in the system before they can find it or is there a bigger problem here?

Hey -- my case was processed into the "system" in 2 working days at New Delhi consulate. If you look at the days, you have only given them 2 working days (14th and 17th) so far and on top of that, they have to catch-up with the backlog since the 11th. 15th and 16th were holidays (Independence Day and Janmashthami). Furthermore, some people may have taken the 14th off to make it an extra long weekend (hey, it's India, OK? :-)

Your file is probably sitting at the embassy waiting to be processed in -- ping them on Monday again. I don't think anything is wrong :thumbs:

2006-02-27: I-129 Sent

2006-03-02: NOA1

2006-07-24: NOA2

2006-07-31: Case received by NVC

2006-08-01: Case leaves NVC to New Delhi Consulate via DHL

2006-08-04: Case received by New Delhi Consulate

2006-08-08: Packet 3 mailed out by consulate

2006-08-17: DS-230 Part I couriered to consulate

2006-08-23: Got interview date (email and telephone confirmation)

2006-08-28: Picked-up packet 4 from the consulate, counter 16 (between 2 PM and 3 PM)

2006-09-20: Interview Date (VISA Approved!!!)

2006-09-23: Picked up Passport with VISA from Blue Dot courier office (VFS did not hold it)

2006-09-27: Reached Home!!! (POE Chicago)

I-130 TRACK

2006-02-08: I-130 Sent

2006-02-27: NOA1

2006-05-03: NOA2 (Approved)

2006-06-12: Received and entered into NVC system

2006-07-08: Self Generated DS-3032 and sent to NVC

2006-07-08: Received I-864 bill from attorney

2006-07-11: Paid I-864 bill

2006-07-12: Received IV bill

2006-07-17: Receive I-864 package

2006-07-19: Send back I-864 package

2006-07-19: Pay IV bill (was out on vacation)

2006-07-31: Sent in self-generated DS-230 (after NVC was ready)

2006-08-03: Case being reviewed by NVC (per operator)

2006-09-12: Case sent to New Delhi Consulate

2006-10-04: Emailed Consulate and got Original Interview Date (10/20/06) posponed to April 2007

It's okay im in the same boat i was told the 11th also my package was sent to Mumbai i got a reply from them saying they don't have my packet either and we where both suppost to be sent off on the 11th...i feel better knowing im not the only one....good luck Sachinator let me know what you hear

just wait till monday,then try calling them speak to some one in iv visa section,i am sure they will tell u that they have received the case.dont worry to much.get yr i134,and all the proof of relationship,u r good to go,just a matter of few weeks.

You're right KP, I am running around trying to get everything ready. Radha, I had my wife go to the consulate and ask for packet 3 and they gave it to her. NVC sent the case on Aug 14th, reached Mumbai on 17th and my wife picked up the packet on 23rd. You may want to do the same. I believe they are giving November interview dates right now.
