don't be confused. It depends on who will put the packet together. If your husband will be the one to send the documents to nvc then when u obtain the police report your birth certificate and all other docs required by the consulate in your area them u can send them to him in 1 envelope to minimize cost. Vice versa if you're the one assembling and mailing the packet to nvc.

It doesn't matter who sends the information.

Somebody sends me a link about the AOS packet and IV packet to be submitted at the NVC. Under the IV- Packet, it includes there my police certificates and other documents. So meaning to say my husband is the one who will send those or is it I? Which is better though?

its up to your choice, what we did in our case is hubby sent his AOS packet first from US and i sent my IV packet from here in PI because i have to wait for my passport and that took a little while... but i would suggest base in our experience it is better to send those docs to ur spouse first and send AOS and IV at the same time... so NVC people could possibly review your documents(AOS and IV) at the same time and if nothing is missing youll be case complete right there!... its up to your choice, anyways sending it from you or from ur spouse wouldnt matter to NVC. goodluck!

You're applying for IR1?

If that's the case, your husband will be asked send the forms and documents to the National Visa Center. After review, then you will get an interview date at the US Embassy Manila, and they will forward your package to the Embassy.

The K3 visa is no longer available; under that old process, NVC doesn't not process the K3 visa, it is the US Embassy Manila....if the K3 was still available, you would just bring your original supporting documents, photocopied documents, proof of paying visa fees and passport photos at the US Embassy interview.

passport photo? to sign? no. many people write in pencil or sharpie pen, on the back of the photo - name, Embassy case #.

re: ds-230 - yup - sign only part I, but fill out part II up to the point it says to stop. and no, don't sign Part II, that's signed in front of a Consular Official on Interview Day.

the state.gov web portal ABOUT the DS-230 is always useful to review, it's 7 pages - have a read?

DS-230 - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html
