Hello folks,

My wife and I sent our N400 applications together however we got different dates for fingerprinting. For those who went through the process or who have had a similar experience, the question is if we both went on the earlier date, will they allow us to both do the fingerprinting on that date or will we have to make the trip twice? it is more convenient if we only make one trip. Your input or experience is much appreciated.

That would depend if your center does walk-ins, if it does then they would let you/her in to do it on the earlier date. If not they would tell you to come back on the date of your appointment and not let you in.

YOu may do a walk in. Depends on your local USCIS office if they allow it! YOu can try and go with your spouse and do a walk in whoever is schedule on either of you that day. I did a walk in 2 weeks before my Biometrics schedule and I was able to do my fingerprint that day. Goodluck!

As the others said, if your local office does walk-ins then there is no problem with both of you going the same early day. Try to pick a less-busy time of day and week, though (probably avoid Mondays and Fridays first or last thing in the day) because even if offices allow walk-ins, they might say come back when it is less busy or you might have to wait till everyone who has appointments on that day or time are served. Also, it has been proved time and time again that early walk-ins don't make for a faster interview date.

How does one know if local office allows walk-in fingerprinting or not? The other thing is, for married couples who applied at the same time, what was your experience like in terms of getting similar fingerprint, interview and oath dates? Thanks.

Milwaukee was really nice enough to take the fingerprints of my stepdaughter, even though her appointment was scheduled one week later than my wifes' saving us another 430 mile round trip. So suggest you both go in at the earliest date and politely ask if they will also take the prints for the one with the latter date. They told us, sure!

Also bring your records along so you can hand fill out that form, neither my wife or daughter had their SS numbers with them, good thing I memorized them. Only eleven months went by since my wifes' I-751 prints were taken, suppose to be 15 months, so did politely ask why again? Was told, I just work here, don't know what's going on. Two days of missed work, a long nine hour drive, just for five minutes in the office for information they already received twice before.

I think no way of knowing that! But I would think the date would be similar if the cases were filed around the same date and bio is taken same time and teh interview will be at the same office.
