I-129F form, line 14

Hello...I'm a US citizen, married to an Australian citizen. We currently live together in Mexico. I'm investigating the K3 process and see that form I-129F has a line asking for the address where your fiance/spouse intends to live in the US. I need advice on how to (eventually) fill this out, as I don't currently have a residence in the US...and wasn't planning to move back until we are a lot further along in the petition/application process. Can I leave this 'to be determined' and explain the situation? Or can I use the address of whomever we'll be staying with when we first arrive back in the US until we find a place to lease...even though this isn't really where we 'intend to live'? Thanks in advance for any help.

are you guys planning any '6 to 9 month' stay in Mexico ?

If so, I strongly suggest you pitch the idea of the K-3,

and instead

follow the DCF'd I-130/CR-1 visa path, instead - please review

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I'm investigating the K3 process and see that form I-129F has a line asking for the address where your fiance/spouse intends to live in the US.

If you were to apply for a K3, you would first fill out an I-130, line 18 on that form asks the same question.

I need advice on how to (eventually) fill this out, as I don't currently have a residence in the US...and wasn't planning to move back until we are a lot further along in the petition/application process. Use the address of whomever you will be staying with when you first arrive back. There are forms to fill out for address changes should they happen during the process. I have a feeling writing "to be determined" in that section would cause your petition to be rejected.

The K3 petition would be closed if the NVC were to receive it at the same time or after they receive the I-130 from the service center. If that happens, you will be on the IR/CR-1 track.

I don't know if DCF is available in Mexico. If it is, you would only file the I-130 for a IR/CR-1 visa. Those who are more familiar with DCF can give more accurate information.

Thanks for the replies. We would be petitioning & applying in Mexico...my understanding is that we are required to, due to the fact that we were married here. I think I understand that part of the process, what I'm wondering is what we are supposed to put as an intended address when I'm not currently living there.

The question doesn't ask where you are currently living, it asks where you intend to live. It is a valid question. If you were to move tomorrow, where would you stay? With a parent? Sibling? Friend? You may put an address of temporary stay if you like

Good luck

Unless you want to stay in Mexico longer, don't send in the I-129F just coz it's free. It adds a few weeks extra processing time, and in all likelihood will be closed by the NVC.

Just send in the I-130 and sit tight ...

No, you must have a US address to apply. Use your parents or brotheres address.

If the k3 is approved, you interview a Juarez. If the I-130 is first (more likely), she will interview at Sydney as she is not a legal resident of Mexico.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.
