WELL AS PER ALL THE OTHER CASES PROCESSED I FEEL THAT IF YOU SHOULD GET IT BY MID NOVEMBER OR DECEMBER.

I SUGGEST YOU TO PREPARE ALL THE DS 230 1 AND 2 DETAILS READY TO SAVE TIME.

IM VERY NEW TO THIS FORUM SO PLEASE TAKE OTHERS SUGGESTIONS TOO.

BY WHAT I HAVE SEEN U GENERALLY GET AN INTERVIEW DATE IN 4 MONTHS.

I AM IN THE VERY SAME BOAT LIKE YOU AND HOPE TO BE IN THE US BEFORE CHRISTMAS

BEST OF LUCK

I am only going by the visajourney timelines for IR-1/CR-1, there is only one person who completed the full timeline from vietnam (back in 04/05) but they showed 7 months from time NVC received to interview date. That doesn't mean yours couldn't go sooner, they may have had an RFE or something.

Using Jame's shortcuts could shave off some time.....

I sympathize with your Q because I posted the same one, hoping to have an interview by Xmas as well, but Montreal is just too backed up for interview dates to ask Santa for this.

Tough question to answer. If everythign goes well and no RFE, then your NVC process will be complete by the end of Novemver. Then it will depend on the Embassy/Consulate, how quickly they can schedule the interview for you.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

I know exactly how you feel and I wonder the same thing, can I get Mel here by Christmas?

Your time-line and my time-line for the I-130 are almost the same, but In both of our cases I dont think the I-130 will get to the embassy and get our wife'e here by Christmas.

A better choice is that our I-129f would be approved in the next few days, because the I-129f goes through National visa much faster and would be forwarded to the Embassy in as little as 2 weeks after the NOA2 on the I-129f.

I am hoping for the same thing, so keep in contact and let me know how it goes.
