Just read yesterday about a 42 year old from Detroit that was gunned down in Iligan City, Mindanao, actually a little village just outside of here. Took six bullets. It does seem like it is happening on a much more frequent basis now than before. But it is not just foreigners, it seems like the violence against everyone there is picking up.

Another American killed in Angeles City

"A British man has been shot dead in the northern Philippines in the second attack in as many days against a foreigner in the country, police said.Bruce Anthony Jones was in a car in Angeles city en route to meet friends in a firing range on Tuesday when two men on a motorcycle fatally shot him and wounded his Filipino wife.

Senior Supt Danilo Bautista said the 50-year-old was a resident of the nearby city of Olongapo. His hometown was not immediately available.

Mr Jones's wife will undergo an operation for a gunshot wound and has not yet talked to police at length, but she told investigators she does not recognise the gunmen. Police have no suspect yet.

On Monday, assailants also shot dead an American man in the southern Iligan city."
