Is it true that Montreal is the only Consulate in Canada that handles CR-1 visas?

Thanks. Hey I just applied I-130/ CR-1 for my wife in Canada in September. She comes to visit me bi-monthly for short periods of time. Is there a problem with doing that??? She works there and comes for a week or so every other month. Should we anticipate any problems??? Your signature got me worried!!!

Admittance is not a guarentee. Tell her to bring strong ties to Canada and a copy of the packet you send in.

As someone who's been denied entry, I can tell you it is no fun. But the info in Flames' signature can reduce the risk

What was the circumstances under which you were denied entry at POE??? During the CR-1 process???

I wasn't. traveld to DC monthly with never a problem! All comes down to the POE officer!! Look below in my signature for advice!! MOSt do not have any problems, but some do! and yes, u can have all the evidence in the world and still be denied entry! cheers

Well, I was denied entry twice, one for immigrant intent (due to being married to a USC) and one for lack of ties to Canada

PS - it had NO impact on our cr-1 visa. I declared it on the DS-230 and told the truth when asked about it

I was never denied entry and I visited quite a bit but you want to ensure you have strong ties to Canada ie mortgage or lease, a letter from your employer stating when you will return to work, bill setc. But all the posters on this board have said the same thing: any denials of entry do not affect your petition and visa application. That said, if you were denied for any criminal activity, you would likely have a complex problem on your hands.
