Does the US Embassy in Manila send the Packet 3 to the beneficiary using the ordinary postal mail or by a COURIER service?

hi folks,

i'm just kind of curious whether the US Embassy in Manila sends the Packet 3 to the beneficiary using the ORDINARY postal mail or a COURIER service. as far as i've read in some posts here, there are beneficiaries who were not able to receive their packets. they had to call the St. Luke's Medical Center for these said packets. do you think the beneficiaries or petitioners are given an option to choose how the packet 3 would be sent?

thanks for future replies.

regards,

tam

Hi Tam,

The US Embassy only sends packet 4 and they use "DELBROS" in delivering it. You have an option if you want to pick-up your packet in st. Lukes or just wait until it will be delivered. As for me, I did call the st. Lukes using this number 521-8647 / 521-0020 and told them that I want to pick-up my packet there. I did pick it up there, but I also received my packet through DELBROS so I have 2 packets in my hand :P.

P.S.

The st. Lukes that I'm referring to, is the ermita branch not the one in Q.C.

You also need tons of patience when your calling the number of st. lukes :P .

hi,

that's a good thing! i think i'll just do the same thing that you had done. did you call the ST. Luke's Medical Center immediately right after you had known that your petition is already at the embassy? thanks for the info.

ciao,

tam

No prob! :)

I didn't call right away, I think I waited 2 weeks before I did start contacting them.

hi bjzags,

i phoned the NVC (603-3340700, option 1-> then press 5 -> operator) and asked them about the shipping date. Using the references (CORRESPONDENCE, EXPEDITE NIV SECTION, etc.) plus the ship date (given by other members here in this forum), i was able to track the package that was sent by the NVC to the US EMBASSY in Manila, on the DHL website. the information given was very useful and am so thankful for that. the only question i have is, how the members of this forum were able to get the references to use for tracking the packet from the NVC? any answers to this question will be appreciated.

ciao,

tam

Greetings!

The moment my hubby got the approval letter i kept emailing NVC till they rcvd the case, assigened the new manila case number and forwarded it to US Embassy, Manila.

With the new manila case number given from NVC i was able to track if the case was rcvd in Manila by calling...The response was they rcvd the file bt still waiting as to when the interview appointment will be...i tried calling again then the lady told me as to when my interview appointment will be...so i knew way ahead my appointment for interview and medical even before i rcvd the the packet.

p.s. i spent money calling US Embassy bec.. i was so excited but i also gained because i was able to purchased a flight from cebu to manila and back way cheaper than the normal fare...

Another silly question, what is in Packet 3 from the Manila embassy, if packet 4 is the envelope that contains the instructions on what is needed for the interview and all the forms that need to be persented at the interview? Thanks.

hi bjzags,

you know, what? i'm also confused regarding the packet 3 and 4 being sent to the beneficiaries in the Philippines. according to britannique_chic, we will only be given the packet 4, but when i try to view the timelines of some members in this forum, they seem to receive packet 3 as well. isn't it confusing? anyway, i hope this issue will be cleared up by other members who had already been interviewed by the consulate in Manila.

take care,

tam
