Hello,

Yesterday I have received a letter from NVC with the case number assigned.

Now, I have some questions...

I have applied for my wife and our 2 children. I received a letter from NVC with the case number and also, a Affidavit of Support (AOS) Processing Fee Bill Invoice of US$ 88,00 and also, a DS-3032 form (Choice of Agent). But only for my wife. I did not receive any letter about my children (or did not arrive yet).

They should send the same letter, fee and choice of agent for my children too? Just in case, my son has 5 years old and my daughter has 1 year old.

Another question...I have scanned the DS-3032 form but the quality was not so good. There is any trouble to send a scanned form to NVC? Because it takes several days until the letter arrive in Brazil...

Last question (I promise :D) Can I send the DS-3032 form direct to NVC, from Brazil? Or is better to send from US?

Thank you all!

They probably assume that choice of agent for spouse is the same as for children. Its not likely that you'll one for spouse and another for children. You can clarify this by calling NVC directly and speaking to the operator (option 5, long waits sometimes, 30 mins).

As for returning DS-3032, you can do this via e-mail. Have the beneficiary e-mail this form directly to nvc:

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form

You can read more about this here:

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/James%27s_Shortcuts#Option_2:-_Choice_of_Agent_selection_via_E-mail

Its a way to get through NVC faster. As soon as I knew my National Visa Center number, I sent this off and this too off at least a week from processing time.

Once they receive this, they will send you e-mail to pay your DS-230 fee via the NVC portal.

Good luck!

Hello, thank you for your answer...

Can I send the choice of agent before paying the US$ 88,00 fee or do I have to pay the fee first?

The DS-3032 is really linked with the DS-230. The I-864 is linked with the $88 fee. Read further for an explanation.

Your are doing three things at NVC:

1. You are proving that you have enough funds to sustain your sponsor when he/she arrives here. So you first pay the $88 fee, which once paid and confirmed will result in an e-mail and a cover sheet (you'll get this through the payment portal). You'll send this, completed with the cover sheet and that's how you will complete your sponsorship requirement.

2. The DS-3032 is when you decide who the agent is. Usually the United States Citizen is the one you designate... he or she collects all the documents and sends to NVC on your spouses behalf. You can do this via e-mail AS SOON AS you have an NVC number assigned. But before you do that, you should make sure NVC has your spouse's e-mail address. The e-mailed DS-3032 (the link I sent earlier with the right format) has to come from the beneficiary. Call NVC and make sure they have yours and your spouse's e-mail address. They'll ask for your CIS number, your names, and your dates of birth before you can do anything. Remember this is not related to payment for the I-864. You can do this anytime, as soon as you have an NVC number.

Once the DS-3032 via e-mail (or paper) is read by NVC, they will release the opportunity for you to pay for the DS-230. Once paid, you'll be able to get another cover sheet through the payment portal.

3. Take this cover sheet as the first sheet for the DS-230 and all its related documents and send it to NVC. Then you are done with NVC, and just have to wait for a case complete, and an interview date.

Take a look at this flowchart:

http://www.visajourney.com/examples/NVC_Process_Flowchart_v1-2.pdf Both sides of the chart happen simultaneously.

Last but not least its really important to understand WHY you are doing what you are doing, rather than doing B after A, then C, unless you are using a lawyer of course, and then he or she does that for you (which btw, if your case is straightforward, and with visajourney can be done without).

Good luck!

You should call back NVC on Monday, and verify

that they have the other casefiles on yer children, get the NVC casefile numbers from a NVC Human.

The AVR may or may not have the data, right now, on the children.

The good news, is that it's only gonna be ONE AOS fee for all (only 88 bucks for the 3 of them).

IIWY, I'd wait a day or two, until you have NVC casefile #'s on the children.

How many NOA2 did you received from USCIS? Is it 2 also? Then NVC will just merge the 2 I-130 into 1 case number?

You will receive two NOA2 notices from USCIS, but only your wife's NOA2 will have the A#, and there will only be one NVC case number (starting with MNL) assigned to your family (no "merging" really...it's just their SOP). You will use these numbers in the rest of the application process, on both your wife's and your daughter's medical forms and the Embassy forms, so your wife needs to know what they are and have a copy of them at all times while the visa hasn't been issued.

I dunno, I've been monitoring I-130 petitions and CR-1/CR-2 visas much this year -

and

NVC usually tracks all, when there's 2 visa applications, CR-1 and CR-2, via different case numbers, at least for the online payment portal.

At some point, though - the casefiles are joined up together at NVC, so you'll see this joining in the online portal, eventually, with the lead CR-1 visa holding point as the main casenumber - but

that 2nd casenumber, will still be distinct, throughout the process.

I have to guess that marriedtomrg came in on a K-3 visa (also per her timeline), as they're doing an AOS casefile now. CR-1/CR-2 visa holders do NOT do AOS, at all. Her experience won't mirror yours, she did not have any 'NVC Processing Step' , at all.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
