As we finish preparing for our interview coming up on the 27th, I was hoping that someone could confirm that the "N/A (K-1 visa process for permanent residence)" answer to question 11 on the I-134 form is acceptable for the HCMC consulate. Otherwise, I think we've got the information we'll need for that form:

Tax return and account transcripts from the IRS for last year

Employment letter

Current paystub

Credit union letter

Current credit union statement

Thanks!

You should have the last 3 years tax transcripts.. you only have 1 years documented income? hopefully the employment letter will be enough to offset the short term documentation of income...

Yes thats sufficient for #11..

Thanks for the advice! We'll plan to include three years of tax transcripts.

The IRS will fax them to you.. thats the fastest way to get them...

Scott,

I am preparing my I-134 as well. I thought for the K1 visa they only require 1 tax transcript for the last tax year. Does the Consulate now require the last 3 tax transcripts for the K1?

6/1/09 - 6/11/09-----> First meeting (Japan)

11/11/09 - 11/21/09-----> Second meeting (Japan)

2/7/10 - 2/14/10-----> Third meeting (Vietnam) (First trip to Vietnam)

4/1/10 - 4/11/10-----> Fourth meeting (Vietnam) (Second trip to Vietnam)

5/5/10-----> I-129F: NOA1

8/27/10-----> NOA2

12/20/10-----> Interview Date

Tax return and account transcripts from the IRS for last year

Does this mean tax return transcripts and tax account transcripts? Or, does this mean copies of the tax return and tax account transcripts?

I'm just wondering why you would want to send tax account transcripts. Did you file an amended return?

Unless the packet 4 instructions have changed since I last read them, they only require the most recent year. I suppose if your income were borderline they could blue slip you for another two years of transcripts.

If you go by the policy of always providing the maximum they could possibly ask for then sending three years of transcripts would be playing it safe. I sent three years of transcripts and a recent letter of employment.

I remember seeing them give someone a bunch of ####### because he was borderline and only had recent year docs... showing 3 years is not required per se, its just that extra umph to show them she will not be a public charge... it would be nice if they went strictly by the pkt 4 docs when it comes to deciding whether or not to issue the visa.. as we all know they like to ask for more. and often ask for off the wall stuff.. so why not just give it to them straight away and have it be a non-issue...

Thanks for the response. No amended returns, but I wasn't sure exactly how to interpret "Complete Income Tax Return Transcript from the IRS (formerly IRS Form 1722)" in the Package 4 instructions. Since it's only one more page per year, I figured I'd just include the Account Transcripts for 'completeness'.
