I have been waiting almost 7 months. I called the USCIS after 6 months. I got a letter saying I should hear something in 45 days after 9-8. I called on 8-25. So I got touched again yesterday. I was expecting it to take a year. 8-10 months for marriage visa is not bad. I been watching the k-1's some of those have been done in under 4 months. Also you can opt-in for electronic processing saves about 2-8 weeks. Read up on that. There is a lot of information here.

well, I have to assume yer friend's husband spoke with a CSR, Tier 1 human.

Strongly suggest that you tell yer friend to tell her husband to call back,

but

get a Tier 2 human, an ISO - see http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/gc_1221837986181.shtm#5

Usually, the USCIS 'information line' is labelled the 'misinformation line' because of the 'bad info' the Tier 1, CSRs, give out.

An ISO can actually 'see' what's going on, in some detail, with case status.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
