..did I mention...DONE!

We arrived at 8:45am and checked in. Officer Lee asked to see me alone first. Swore me in and then proceeded to question me for 2 hours  We reviewed where I lived for the last 20 years...looked at each line of my bank statements and said,,'who eats out all the time?" lol I said that would be me at McDonalds. She looked at what books he checked out of the librarry (lots of accounting books..snore) lets see, what else?

She read EVERY letter I brought from family and friends. I had attatched a picture of each person so she could put a face to each name. She went thru the 100 pictures I brought that covered our 2 years together. She read about 30 of the 13 months of emails I brought  Two hours.....oh my. Then she started sorting what she wanted to keep and gave me back a few things. I knew we were about done. His passport and my passport were laying on the desk, last two things there. So she says, I will get him now and you can go to the waiting room, you can take these and pushed the passports to me. I said outloud "darn!" and she said what? and laughed. I said, well if you were going to approve us you would have to keep his passport to take out the I94. She TOOK IT BACK and said you can go. I walked out still not knowing an answer. Now it was Mr Al Hajis turn with her. Now remember, last time she scared the pants off him!

He goes back and he said she was so different. (i said good for you...i was just grilled for 2 hours! lol) They talked for about 30 minutes while I paced the waiting room. She took out his I94 and said, you will get a welcome letter in about 2 weeks and your greencard after that.

He came out smiling  then we celebrated in Chicago for about...oh 10 hours ! Home now and DONE DONE DONE with USCIS foreva !

Good luck to everyone still waiting and a huge thank you to everyone that is so supportive on VJ!

Thx ya'll for replying! It was cool sharing 'approval day' with Olivia and her husband!

Jax (F)

Awe Jax! (L) Thanks for the acknowledgement. It's an honor to share the day with you that we both got approvals for 10 year green cards! kicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gif

Especially after everything we've both been through with this whole process. wacko.gif IKYKWIM. :P

This reminds me of the day dh got the approval for the visa and the night before you threw the biggest sandbox slumber party ever for me while I was staying up waiting for the interview news. luv.gif I couldn't believe all the people that came into VJ chat that night to show their support. Then as it turned out I got to share the great news with 5 other approvals at the Cairo embassy the same day right here in our own MENA VJ! It was a big day for all! And then 4 out of those 5 people got their visas within a couple of days to no more than 2 weeks. It was unprecedented for Cairo. We were also told we'd get ours in 2-3 weeks but got held up for 5+ months in AP/AR.
