My fiancee (now wife!) liked the Best Western la corona. Very safe, good rooms and food. We stayed also when I went to bring her here. In july 09 rates were around 55-60 USD. Free internet and close to the mall.

Chinook stayed at Citystate Tower Hotel when she went for her medical and her interview, and again before she left the Philippines.

She was very happy with Citystate Tower Hotel because it is clean, secure, affordable, and convenient to both St. Lukes and to the U.S. Embassy. Breakfast is included with the price of the room. She especially enjoyed their bulalo.

lotus garden ,safe, clean much better than cherry blossom and good free breakfast 48$ a nite. we did both and lotus much nicer!!!

DITTO

5 minute walk to St' Lukes and Mac Donalds and Jollibee right across the street from the hotel.

thanks for all the suggestions... my fiancee found this place called Paragon Hotel? has any body ever stayed there? the rate is also around the $50 ballpark, give or take. It's also a walking distance to the St. Luke's extension clinic to where they will be doing the medical/physical exam. Goodluck to us and everybody!

Lots of expats stay at the lotus Garden when in Manila.

My wife , daughter and SIL stayed there for the medical and Bayview for the interview,

They like the Lotus Garden better than Bayview but Bayview worked out fine as you can throw a rock from Bayview and hit the embassy.

Hint! Have your mate go to St. Lukes Tuesday thru Thursday AFTER 12 noon.

I personally don't recommend Cherry Blossoms Hotel. I stayed there 5 days in Mar'10 and took home bedbug bites (about 20) all about my shoulders and arms. david in Ohio

A lot of the girls that go to Saint Luke's for medical stay at the Soriente Pension House. They use to at least. It is very near St Lukes and the U S Embassy. It use to be about 1000 pesos a night and is a decent place. If you do want nicer, like others said, Lotus Garden is it. It is the best I have found in the area close to St Lukes.
