USC spouse and green card holder spouse have to submit an AR-11 Change of Address form to USCIS every time you move; the USC spouse may do so online or by mail within 30 days of moving to the new address. The green card holder spouse has to comply by mail only within 10 days of moving to new address.

Don't know if you have to inform SSA of your change of address...perhaps some of the veteran VJ members can help. Have you visited the SSA website to check?

Since you have no pending case with the USCIS you can sumbit an AR-11 Change of Address form online which is faster than sending it by snail mail.Your husband being a USC is not obligated to file AR-11.What he needs to do is submit an I-865 Sponsor's Change of Address form.USCIS will then send you a confirmation letter which you can keep as proof. That is what we did and never had a problem with it.

Actually, the USC has NO obligation to change their address using an AR-11, but they DO need to change their address for the I-864, and to do that they file an i-865.

Here is the online change of address: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa

Thanks for that (I learn more stuff from you guys every time :) )...question: after AOS is approved, the I-864 remains in effect while we have not applied for citizenship, right? (I forget what the other conditions are)...so if we moved while the I-864 is in effect, but do not have an ongoing application for anything, would we still need to file the I-865?

How can one confirm what address USCIS currently has on record for your case? Our record with USCIS is so out of date I just can't believe it. We will file to lift conditions in a few months and our record on-line still shows that our request for advanced parole is "being considered". Well we've had her Green Card for over a year.

Is there any way to check on-line what our address is?

Is there something I can do that should generate a letter from them for something so that I can see where it goes?

Our Visa Journey

07/29/07 ---- Mailed I-129F

08/25/07 --- Check finally cashed (8/27 I should be able to see the R number on the back).

08/27/07 --- NOA1 Arrives from CSC and I create my account profile on the USCIS.Gov web-site (the clock starts)!!!

02/05/08 --- After 191 days NOA2 (Approval) comes at last!!!!

2/14/08 --- NVC sends letter saying that it's on the way to the US Embassy in Bangkok

2/25/08 --- She receives Packet 3 from the Embassy

3/29/08 --- She receives Packet 4 with interview date (July 11th).

3/30/08 --- I e-mail the Embassy asking to make the date earlier because I've already got our tickets for June 13th!!!

5/6/08 --- No help from the Embassy. Rebooked tickets and vacation till September.

5/21/08 --- Embassy calls her and moves interview to May 27th!!!!! You have got to be kidding me!!!

9/21/08 --- POE San Francisco!!!!

12/8/08 --- Married!!!!

12/15/08 --- Mail AOS + AP + EAD package to Chicago

12/28/08 --- Come back from vacation and find AOS/AP/EAD NOA 1 and Bio App notices in the mailbox!!!

Just make sure to use the new address on the I-751 petition and all notices will come to the new address. Hope you already did the AR-11 for LPR and I-865 for USC. I-865 when mailed comes with the confirmation of the change of address done for USC.
