Whenever my husband and I would go to less familiar areas, we would use Yelp to find a restaurant. (I like TripAdvisor for vacation reviews.)

Do you write reviews on Yelp?

Do you use Yelp whenever you are in search of something?

Is there a better phone app than that?

yeah I use Yelp sometimes.. and I write a review now and then on it.. i think I have a total of 5 reviews on there..

Poynt is a pretty good app, it shows movie times, restaurants, gas prices etc.. my husband has it on his Blackberry..

the Google app is pretty good too

I have written reviews on Yelp and I do use it to read on unfamiliar places, but I've found that a lot of the reviews are completely off base, at least with my own tastes.

i used to write yahoo reviews, about 8 a month, for maybe 3 years? then gave it up about 2 years ago.

yelp? no clue, sorry - but I rarely go to 'new places' in Houston anymore -

I found my singapura noodle shop, I'm happy.

I found my moroccan mutton tarjine shop, I'm happy.

I found my vietnamese pho shop, I'm happy.

I gave up trying to find poutine anymore, but pho and targine keep me satiated.

When I travel in USA, I actually don't 'eat out' unless it's a business meeting -

I will get to a shop, get some mostly raw organic foodstuffs, and prep, then eat.

I've been on a weird diet this year.

When I'm in Liverpool, I'm a fiend for curry, but already know the shops for curry, found on 'walk-about'.

When I'm in China, I eat what and where my wife leads me, always.

Yelp is a phone app? cool ! Sorry, I be clueless.

Mmm poutine... I did try to make that myself once, with rather limited success. But I did manage to find one restaurant in MSP that does serve it.

I've had good luck with Yelp, and written a couple of reviews. I'm sort of new to it but have found it useful. I usually use it in combination with TripAdvisor.
