okay i have some serious problems now. my fiancee is having family issues and does not know when she will be able to actually move to the US. we just received the packet 4 with a link to where we can schedule and interview.

considering the montreal embassy has no phone number to talk to someone i am left freaking out here.

is there a way to delay or put our whole visa process on hold until this family thing blows over??

i really don't want to lose everything and the NVC said if we just don't do anything for a month or so then they may just cancel the whole thing and our whole application.

so i am in dire need of help here. can we delay this or is there a way to get a hold of someone to explain things to?

lastly, when you login to the scheduling center it has three different options for what the visa is for.

Permanently Immigrate to the US (Fiance - K1/K2)

Permanently Immigrate to the US (Scheduled by NVC)

Permanently Immigrate to the US (Ready to Schedule)

which one do i choose?

could i choose the first one and it wouldn't schedule just yet?

i am scared to continue and have it schedule the appointment for when we can't attend.

thank you all so much.

If you call them 514-400-2591 they'll help you out. The lady I talked to for some info was nice and didn't mind answering questions. Its the beneficiary's passport number.

Hope al is okay with your fiance and her family!!

I was able to scheduale mine Nov 29th...you could scheduale it adn then you have up til 4 days befor eto change the date and postpone it till Dec or Jan....Im pretty sure that would be fine because you would still have activity in your case.

Also keep in mind that after she gets her visa, she has 6 months to use it. So even if she schedules the interview now for say November or December and is approved at the interview, the visa would be valid until April or June. There is also the option of attending the interview and asking them to delay issuance of your visa. She would then keep her passport, and send it back to Montreal when she's ready to have the visa issued. Several people have done this in the past without a problem.
