ACLU sues Camden police for allegedly planting drugs on city residents

CAMDEN — CAMDEN — The American Civil Liberties Union is filing a lawsuit on behalf of a Camden man who said corrupt police officers planted drugs on him.

It's another step in a wide-ranging police scandal where charges or convictions have been vacated in almost 200 cases.

Two Camden police officers have pleaded guilty to federal charges in connection with planting evidence on innocent people.

"Planting evidence on innocent people in order to send them to prison is one of the most serious forms of police misconduct, and police who engage in such behavior must be held accountable," said Edward Barocas, legal director of the ACLU of New Jersey.

The Camden police department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

As per usual, the most cunning and disingenuous organization of them all suing cities, town, states and even the country. They do realize that when they sue the government, they are effectively suing we the people.

Their systematic attempt to bypass democracy, by means of the courts, is alarming. Who wants to live in a country where a private organization gets to sue their agenda into other peoples' lives.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.
