Your argument has merit, until you stop and ask what the Tea Party see in her - why does the tea party movement embrace her so warmly?

There's no such thing as "The Tea Party". Tea Party is not one party - it's hundreds

of unrelated groups of individuals across the country who share the same message:

government is too big, taxes are too high and Washington spending is out of control.

The message is simple and crosses party lines, gender lines, religious lines and yes,

racial lines.

I don't know which "tea party" supports Sarah Palin, but I'm sure she found some

retards to follow her around with tea bags.

I don't block people. Sorry, please don't antagonize me.
I sincerely hope that you'll feel better later.

The Tea Party truly ISN'T monolithic. There's been some call for its proponents to extend their philosophy beyond economic issues to social/moral issues, but if people vote their pocketbooks, that could be enough for some TP-supported candidates to succeed.

Well, they did pay her like $200k to speak at a Tea Party National Convention.

I do agree that it isn't a party, but a collection of groups, some more radical wingnut than others. I do disagree that it really crosses party and racial lines all that much. There are aberations, but far from being a norm.

What are 'unrelated groups of individuals'?

No matter, I was under the impression she was going around making key note speeches for these folks. I could be wrong, I don't follow any of this very closely.

I did put 'tea party' in parenthesis to indicate that it wasn't a party in the conventional sense of the word, you got that, right?

Oops, I didn't. I meant to though, never mind.

I bet I could spend $500k and organize a "Tea Party National Convention" and invite

whomever I want. Who's going to say, "you're not an official Tea Party representative"?

Anyone can be Tea Party.

Groups that are not related to each other.

But, they are related, by virtue of their sharing those common (but admittedly loosely defined) aims. That's the only thing that ties an individual to a group, sharing some common aim or belief. Individuals are by definition, individual.

Only loosely related - their goals are similar, but not identical. For example, I would

never join Sarah Palin's tea party, but I like the message.

Anyone can be Tea Party, as long as you have a double digit IQ.

If this is an 'all party' movement, why is it so closely identified with right wingers? I have also identified rather a lot of religious fanatics amongst the ranks which doesn't seem very all inclusive to me.

The Tea Party is not a party, its a conservative populist political movement that primary operates within the Republican Party. When it gets down to it, the values championed by most of the tea party is platform of the Republican party. However most of the platform will never really be achievable as its contradictory. For example, you can'y really have a small government while at the same time pushing for strong national defense or you cant keep the government out people personal lives while at the same time pushing traditional values.
