INTERVIEW DATE

After all the waiting our interview has finally been arranged for 25th next month. However, we were planning to go abroad to attend my brother's wedding and also give my fiancé an opportunity to meet my parents and we were going to come back on 25th. I sent a cover letter with my packet 3 requesting that the interview is arranged for 26-27th October. I'm not sure whether they disregarded that request or simply booked it a day earlier by mistake. Anyway, we would like to try to re-arrange the date but not sure how to approach it.

My fiancé has emailed the Embassy today, but the email bounced back saying it was deleted. I also called them today and was told to email.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has any experience trying to re-arrange their date and how successful it was.

Many thanks for your replies.

When you called, did they give you the code to put in the email subject heading?

I've heard that the "bounce back" email is automatic, you get that no matter what you send them, a measure that they instituted after 9/11. If the email you sent has the code or your case number in the subject heading they will get back to you, even though you got the bounce back email.

Yes, to your question. People have changed their interview dates via email. MARM had to put hers off several times because the UK Home Office wouldn't give back her fiance's passport. So each time the interview would approach, she would have to delay it yet again. It won't affect your interview or visa to delay it. Also people have successfully moved up their interview dates by asking if they can have a spot if there are cancellations. So somebody will be thrilled to take your spot.
