I think Jeffrey's design is cool, and I like Michael's too. Jeffrey might be an a$$ but he has talents. Laura's is okay but it's very impractical for travelling on a plane. Uli starts to bore me... her designs are very one tone, they are all backless long dress with all these patterns and flows... It's interesting at first but after so many episodes... *yawn*...

Angela's outfit was the worst, she deserves the auf. Kayne looks goofy in that outfit and the way he walks on the runway really bugs me. He looks like he has something swollen in his armpits !! Oh, and I can't believe what Vincent made. What was that ? A pyjama ??

Yeah, I'm getting tired of Kayne and his accent... oop! I think I'm revising my three...I want two to be Michael & Uli, but it's tough to pick a third since the rest are all kinda wacky in their own way. I didn't hate Vincent's outfit. It was boring and the pants were too baggy...but with some hemming and good accessories, I could see it as a jet-setters outfit... definitely easy to travel in. Uli's DID just look like it belonged on a beach.

I love this show! I think Michael is an awesome, talented designer. He knows how to make great clothes but he doesn't just have to stick to one thing - he uses a lot of different ideas and is flexible. Kayne argh I don't like him, his style is not "high fashion" as I believe someone else said, it is kitchy - he has a nitch and that's it. Jeffery no I don't like him I really don't. His outfit looked like it should be on stage. I've done a lot of traveling and haven't seen anyone dressed like that. I really like Uli's clothes, she does have a style but they are always very well put together, they might be all long dresses but they are amazing, and I think she could definetely do well in her own business. My 2 cents for the show this week.

Michael better win!!!

Agree totally! Loved the seersucker pants. Though I didn't think going from NYC to the Hamptons could be considered jet-setting.

By the way, I nearly died last night when Tim told Angela that one of her fabrics looked like Holly Hobbie and she said that's a good thing! Thank God she is gone. Praying for Vincent to be gone next and then Kayne. Not even my gay friends would be caught dead in his outfit from last night.

MarilynP,

Is anybody else watching this show??

Without fail.

The show is driving me crazy.... Vincent has been in the bottom 2 so many times and he always manages to escape elimination..... All the clothes he makes are really strange...

Agreed, but someone is always just a bit below him each time.

They seem to only take into account the dress they design for that particular show and not what they have done so far....

Exactly. Each challenge is a new and independent event. I was so sad to see Angela go last night (8/30), but as Heidi says .....

What REALLY made Kayne's bad was his sparkly personalized belt...:wacko::huh:

Frances,

The challenge was to design an outfit suitable for a 'jet setter'. I don't recall if there was a condition that the outfit had to be suitable for travelling in - I doubt that jet setters party in the same outfit that they travel in. Laura's dress was a great party dress, that's probably the aspect of jet setting that she was concentrating on as were most of the others.

With regard to material selection, material that travels well when worn will generally also travel well when packed. Laura probably expected that her dress would travel packed, not worn.

In any event, Angela, although I've liked her work, blew all aspects of the challenge big time. As she commented early in the segment, she's a rural Ohioan - she had no clue. She was clearly the loser. Auf-whatever.

Yodrak

Well, anyone? Reactions to last night's episode??

I thought Angela or Kayne should have gone...those outfits were BAD. Angela with her flowers on her butt and LINEN...even I know not to travel in linen!!! I wanted Michael to win, glad he was near the top again. Jeffery's outfit...hmmm...I liked the idea but it didn't look all that great on him. I might have liked Laura's better if she had made some sort of jacket for the travel part of it...I mean WHO gets on an airplane in a cocktail dress and doesn't expect to be freezing???

Yeah, I get what you are saying and my idea was can the outfit should be able to look high fashion no matter where they were going. They talked about the wearability and wrinkling, so.... I dunno how important those were either. The judges seemed to pick up on those aspects of the designs.

As for Angela, she could easily fill a certain niche in fashion design, but this contest is about being able to adapt to many situations....

Anywhooo...it cracks me up that Yodrak watches Project Runway... hee! :D

What amazes me more about Yodrak is that someone actually likes Angela's designs
